GameStop Anime Game Sale Has Deals On Persona, Dragon Ball, And More Posted: 16 May 2021 07:10 AM PDT Like anime games from franchises like Dragon Ball or anime-style game series like Persona? Of course you do. With GameStop's new anime games sale, you can buy a whole bunch of them for up to half off, and many of them feature both pre-owned and new game options. During GameStop's We Love Anime sale, several different big-name anime games are on sale, and a few of them are even new releases. Persona 5 Strikers on Nintendo Switch, for instance, is only $40, with the same price available on PS4 and a pre-owned copy knocking a few more dollars off. Personal 5 Royal, which is an upgraded and expanded version of the original version, is $35, as well. Dragon Ball and Shonen Jump franchises in general are heavily featured in the sale, with Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot on sale for just $20. The brawling mashup game Jump Force is just $15, giving you a chance to see some of your favorite characters duke it out, regardless of whether it makes any canonical sense. FFXIV Patch 5.55 And Full PS5 Version Launch May 25, Here Are The Details Posted: 15 May 2021 07:13 PM PDT The second day of Final Fantasy Fan Fest 2021 kicked off with a Live Letter From the Producer that outlined the next major update to Final Fantasy XIV. Director and producer Naoki Yoshida led the presentation and detailed what's coming to patch 5.55 with regards to the new main story quests, the Save the Queen questline, the full PS5 version of the game, and much more. Lead story designer Natsuko Ishikawa also joined the presentation to discuss her work in creating FFXIV's narrative. Patch 5.55 is set to go live on May 25 and it'll be the last major update leading into the upcoming Endwalker expansion. Additionally, the PS5 version of the game will officially go into service on May 25--this updated version of the game went into live beta in April and has been playable ever since for owners of the PS4 version playing on PS5, so the official service date is more of a formality, but it's the date nonetheless. FFXIV on the PS5 supports native 4K resolution, higher frame rates, a high resolution UI, DualSense haptic feedback, new trophies, and 3D audio support. There are also graphics options for 1440p resolution and better frame rate and 1080p for an even consistent frame rate. Owners of the PS4 version of the game can upgrade to the PS5 version for free. You can read about our experience and watch gameplay footage of the PS5 beta for FFXIV in our previous coverage. Continue Reading at GameSpot |
Final Fantasy XIV Will Add Male Viera (Bunny Boys) In Endwalker; Female Hrothgar At A Later Time Posted: 15 May 2021 04:58 PM PDT Many details for the upcoming expansion Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker were given during the keynote presentation for Final Fantasy Fan Fest 2021--including the new Reaper job, the official release date, new story details, and so much more. But let's be honest, for some, the introduction of the playable male Viera race stole the show. This was revealed through a short teaser trailer showing off the male Viera in action and with their glamour and emotes, which you can watch below. The bunny-like Viera originated in Final Fantasy XII and were first introduced to FFXIV with the 2019 expansion Shadowbringers, but were only available as female in the MMORPG. The limitation of implementing only one sex for the race was said to be due to limited development resources. But with fan demand and interest for male Viera maintaining, the FFXIV team is following up by bringing them to the next expansion Endwalker. Additionally, director and producer Naoki Yoshida confirmed that the FFXIV team is also working on bringing female Hrothgar to the game. However, their implementation will come later in the future and no timeframe was given. Hrothgar were also introduced in the Shadowbringers expansion, but were only playable as male characters. Both Viera and Hrothgar still have limitations in terms of what types of headgear they can wear for glamour, though. Continue Reading at GameSpot |
Hades Gets Rated For PS4 In Korea Posted: 15 May 2021 12:25 PM PDT Hades has been rated for release on PS4 by the Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee, despite no public announcement of a PlayStation version. The listing also mentions Take-Two as the applicant, which would contrast with the self-published release the game got from Supergiant Games on both Nintendo Switch and PC. The rating, which as of May 15 is still listed on the GRAC website, was spotted by a user on the forum ResetEra and lists a deliberation date of April 30. Release dates or windows aren't mentioned on the website, but the description of the game makes it very clear that it's the same Hades released last year. Supergiant is no stranger to PlayStation, releasing several games on PS4 such as Pyre, Transistor, Bastion, but Hades initially only came to PC as an early access title before its eventual full release coincided with the Nintendo Switch version's launch. Early in development, there was no ending implemented and players were given a chance to provide feedback. The iterative development process seems to have worked, as Hades ultimately won Game of the Year awards at DICE and BAFTA, and it ended up being one of GameSpot's own top games of the year. PS4 To PS5: Full List Of Games With Free Upgrades And Game Boost Posted: 15 May 2021 11:09 AM PDT The PS5 doesn't have a dedicated, automatic system for upgrading PS4 games to the current generation like Xbox does with Smart Delivery, but it does still support upgrades on a whole bunch of PlayStation games. Many of these upgrades are completely free, requiring you to only claim the digital PS5 version from the PlayStation Store, while a few others have a small fee or another stipulation. We've rounded them all up below to help make it easier to choose what you take with you from PS4 to PS5, and included dates for some of the biggest upcoming updates. Additionally, we've also provided a list of games that support the Game Boost feature on PS5, which provides enhancements to PS4 games without completely upgrading them to PS5-native software.
