Handy E3 2021 Infographic Shows All Confirmed Exhibitors And Sponsors Posted: 02 Jun 2021 02:30 AM PDT Nintendo listed as a 'Pinnacle Sponsor'. Only ten days remain until E3 2021 gets underway, and while we still don't really have any idea what Nintendo will be up to during the event, we can be sure there'll be a fair few game announcements worthy of our attention. Building up to the big day, the ESA has released a new infographic showing off all the publishers and sponsors that are currently confirmed for the event. Nintendo and Xbox are listed as 'Pinnacle Sponsors', clearly being superior to the lowly 'Premier', 'Feature', and 'Elite' sponsors. Random: Someone 3D Printed Their Very Own Crash Bandicoot Smash Bros. amiibo Posted: 01 Jun 2021 09:55 PM PDT "Hopefully I'll get to stick him next to an official one soon... ". We've seen Nintendo fans use existing amiibos to create slightly different ones in the past, but rarely have we seen someone build one from scratch. That's exactly what artist Thomas Dulaney has done. It apparently took him "about 10 hours of work" all up to 3D print and paint this custom Crash Bandicoot amiibo featuring a Super Smash Bros. base. He used an Elegoo Mars 3D Printer and the painting took a lot of "practice and technique". Read the full article on nintendolife.com |

Bad video game movies have always been a thing, but the one film that topples them all is the 1993 live-action adaptation of Super Mario Bros. Bob Hoskins - the guy who played Mario, labelled the film a "nightmare" a number of years ago but despite this, the movie has managed to develop a cult following online. With this in mind, a group of fans have now released an extended cut of the original film - which includes undiscovered deleted scenes. It's called "The Morton Jankel Cut" - named after the husband and wife directors and increases the runtime from 104 minutes to 125 minutes. Read the full article on nintendolife.com |

Soapbox: Why Harvest Moon 2 GBC Is Still The Best Farming Game Around Posted: 01 Jun 2021 10:00 AM PDT Less is more. We recently published our reader-ranked top 50 Game Boy Color games, and we've taking a look back at a handful of our favourite GBC carts. Today, Kerry reminisces about her very favourite farming sim... There have been a lot of Harvest Moon games over the years, with almost every format between the SNES and the Switch graced by their agricultural appearances. Since 1996 the series has seen more than its fair share of sequels, splits, and spin-offs, and inspired an entire genre of slow life sims, including the likes of the incredibly popular Stardew Valley. As the games and gamers playing them have grown, so too have their complexity, with the farming now seen as just one enjoyable part of a whole range of interconnected activities and systems designed to keep players engaged and entertained for months — if not years — on end. For a number of years back in the day, as new gaming systems and PC GPUs arrived on the market, one question dominated - "fine, but can it run Crysis?". It used to be the ultimate stress test, but as Crysis Remastered proved last year, the humble Switch can run it, which is an impressive thing indeed. Port masters Saber Interactive have teamed up with Crytek once again to bring us Crysis Remastered Trilogy, which is due on a whole host of platforms - including Switch - in Fall. It's worth noting that Crysis 2 and 3 will also be made available to purchase individually, so if you already bought the first one you won't need to pay out for the trilogy bundle. Random: 'Twice For Nintendo Switch' Twitter Trend Leaves News-Hungry Fans Disappointed Posted: 01 Jun 2021 07:30 AM PDT News is pretty non-existent, to be fair. TWICE appearing in a new Nintendo ad for Miitopia It's currently that pre-E3 calm before the storm season, Nintendo hasn't announced any of its plans yet, and everyone in the world is fed up with reading 'Switch Pro' rumours only to find that Nintendo still won't announce the darn thing. The Switch has been graced with a whole lot of high quality shmup releases, with the portable mode in particular being a fun way to jump into some classics of the genre. A recent arrival was Raiden IV x MIKADO Remix, which we sure enjoyed a lot in our review. It landed in the North American eShop in early May, but those of us in Europe have been left twiddling our thumbs, forlornly gazing into the distance and waiting for our turn. Thankfully PQube is teaming up with UFO Interactive and developer MOSS to bring it to EU players both as a download and physical release. Review: Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance - A Punishing But Pleasurable Vintage Dungeon Crawler Posted: 01 Jun 2021 06:00 AM PDT Baldur? Well, it has been twenty years... It's been twenty long, long years since this Gamecube classic thrilled us all with its quasi top-down hack-and-slash dungeon crawling action. And time has not been kind... to us. This game is really hard! Have we been spoiled by much friendlier, less aggressive takes on the genre that have proliferated in the intervening years? Are we just rubbish? Or is Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance a genuinely difficult game? All we know is that if we got surrounded by three enemies or more, we were dead. And that's a very unusual feeling coming from something like Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 (no relation) which offers a far comfier take on similar gameplay. Here, though, you pick your class (Human Archer, Dwarven Fighter or Elven Sorceress), wade into combat, and die a lot. Unless you put the game down to Easy mode, which makes things a lot more manageable while — quite frankly — still not really being all that easy. Read the full article on nintendolife.com |
