Suda51 Hopes To Make No More Heroes Movie Or TV Show A "Reality"

Posted: 31 Jul 2021 11:05 AM PDT

He's even had some offers and proposals in the past.

Travis Touchdown is quite the character, but what would his own television or movie be like? While we're yet to see such a thing, apparently there's been a number of proposals for it in the past.

Speaking to IGN, Suda51 mentioned how he was still "hoping" to transform No More Heroes and the world-famous assassin into a show or film one day - ideally with one of the more popular streaming services. It turns out there have even been some offers in the past but they never really got up and running. Here's exactly what he had to say (thanks, Nintendo Everything):

Soapbox: The Hidden Delights Of The Great Ace Attorney

Posted: 31 Jul 2021 10:00 AM PDT

Or, why TGAA is the LOTR DVD of video games.

Did you know that Viggo Mortensen, the actor who played Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings movies, broke his toes on-set by kicking a helmet? The take ended up in the final cut, and Aragorn's cry of frustration, grief, and despair is made all the more real knowing that poor Viggo's toesies were probably burning in pain like the fiery pits of Mordor.

But you wouldn't know this fact unless you had watched the LOTR DVD special features, which is quite the undertaking. The movies themselves are very long, so to sit through hours and hours of extra stuff is a big ask — but it's worth it, because you can be That Guy who says "oh, this bit is where Viggo breaks his toes" when you watch it with friends.

Animal Crossing Datamine Suggests Popular Hangout Could Still Return

Posted: 31 Jul 2021 09:05 AM PDT

Is something brewing behind the scenes?

Rumours about a popular location returning in Animal Crossing: New Horizons have resurfaced this week.

According to Animal Crossing World, "The Roost" still apparently has a chance of being added to the latest Switch entry in some way or form. News about the cafe's possible return was originally reported last year and the latest game updates (version 1.10 and 1.11) supposedly contain even more evidence about it being added to the Museum section of the game.

Review: Pokemon Unite - Pokémon Divides In Free-To-Start MOBA

Posted: 31 Jul 2021 05:00 AM PDT

Fun, in the right circumstances.

Since the original release of Pokémon Red and Blue on the Game Boy, The Pokémon Company has consistently tried to take its successful monster-collecting RPG through many different iterations, genres, and applications. Pokémon has taken forays into genres such as digital/physical card games, the Mystery Dungeon series, and ventured into the lives of what non-trainers do in the world with the Ranger titles. We've even seen Pokémon interactions brought into real life with the Pokéwalker and the augmented reality mechanics of Pokémon Go. This time, with Pokémon Unite, Pokémon has joined the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena genre, more commonly referred to as "MOBA".

Pokémon Unite has a gentle learning curve that doesn't require previous familiarity with MOBAs. From the get-go, the game teaches all of the main mechanics with the prolific electric mouse, Pikachu. Despite easy to grasp tutorials, though, the game does lack more crucial tips such as explaining undefended goal zones; these are goals players can immediately score inside by holding the button down.

And a look at the Wii Shop Channel prior to release.

By the time we get our hands on consoles, games, and even apps, there have already been multiple revisions during the design stages. Often, we'll see these concepts shared by the developers in various ways later down the line, but in this particular case, it's via a leak.

Yes, the Nintendo gigaleak has now given fans a look at a scrapped channel, that was internally titled "Bulletin Board Channel" or "What's New Channel". As you might have already worked out, it likely would have provided users with news updates. In the end though, as highlighted by Nintendo Everything, the Wii Message Board was the main source of news on the Wii.

Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 31st)

Posted: 31 Jul 2021 02:00 AM PDT

Plenty to choose from!

Another week has passed, with plenty of Nintendo-related news that's kept us intrigued. There were our reviews for games like The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles and NEO: The World Ends With You, Streets of Rage 4's DLC finally arrived on Switch, Monster Hunter Rise got awesome Okami-themed DLC, and Nintendo says it absolutely hasn't forgotten about Animal Crossing: New Horizons; yes there were also new games for Switch Online. There were some lighter moments too, including one StreetPass fan's attempts to get hits in New York, and some rather freaky box art for Super Meat Boy.

There was plenty going on, so it's time to chill out and discuss our weekend gaming plans. A few members of the Nintendo Life team have done just that below, so feel free to give our entries a read and then join in with your own via our comment section. Enjoy!
