Video: Check Out This Fan-Made Remaster Trailer For Banjo-Kazooie Posted: 18 Aug 2021 09:05 PM PDT It looks good enough to play. Although Rare technically re-released an improved version of Banjo-Kazooie during the Xbox 360 generation, there are still many fans out there who have been wondering for many years now what a full-blown remaster of the first title would look like. YouTuber Project Dream has been working on a video series called "Banjo-Kazooie Remastered" to showcase what a possible remaster could like if Rare ever decided to revisit the series. Here's a bit about it, which also reveals how it makes use of original N64 geometry and rendering which was done in Lumion. Read the full article on nintendolife.com |
Random: In Case You Didn't Know, There Are Now 900 Pokémon Posted: 18 Aug 2021 07:30 PM PDT Think you can still catch 'em all? If you were around during the original Pokémon generation, believe it or not, but 151 monsters actually seemed like a lot back then. People were able to name 'em all and could even recite the entire PokéRap. Nowadays, though, your chances of remembering them all are far less likely - and it's now just got even harder. The Pokémon Diamond And Pearl Remakes Might Require A Launch Update "To Play Some Content" Posted: 18 Aug 2021 05:05 PM PDT A release patch seems to have been confirmed. It's hard to avoid game updates nowadays. Normally, if you want to access all of the features in a new release, you're expected to install a launch patch. We've seen it with countless first-party Nintendo games during the Switch generation, and it seems like the release of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will be no different. According to a footnote on the official website of the Diamond and Pearl remakes, it may be necessary to install the day one or post-launch patch to play "some" of the game's content. Here is this message in full: Read the full article on nintendolife.com |
Alveole Is A Minimalist Puzzle Game About Running, Coming This September Posted: 18 Aug 2021 03:30 PM PDT Born to run. Alveole, a short, experimental puzzler coming to Switch on September 1st, has only one mechanic: running. As the faceless outline of a person, you'll be locked in an "imaginary cage", according to the developers, and you must "understand how to use this opportunity when the whole world around consists of hints." The game was originally developed during a hackathon where the theme was "cage", and eventually became a full-fledged release. Read the full article on nintendolife.com |
Garden Story Gets 1.0.4 Patch, Coming To Switch Soon Posted: 18 Aug 2021 02:00 PM PDT Garden patch. Garden Story, an adorable RPG with a protagonist who is a grape, was surprise-released during the Nintendo Indie World showcase last week, and has since been winning over the hearts of everyone (including us, though we're still working on the review!). It does have a few minor issues that players have been experiencing, but the patches are being rolled out quickly, including today's patch 1.0.4, which adds the following fixes: Read the full article on nintendolife.com |
New Life Is Strange: True Colors Gameplay Is 13 Minutes Of Flirting And Choices Posted: 18 Aug 2021 01:00 PM PDT It's looking REAL good. The first official gameplay trailer for Life is Strange: True Colors has just been uploaded to YouTube, and it shows our nervous newcomer hero Alex Chen exploring the record store in the town she's just moved to. Grow Yourself A Cute Garden In 'The Garden Path', A Wholesome Game Coming To Switch Posted: 18 Aug 2021 12:30 PM PDT Inspired by Moomins! Solo UK-based developer (and illustrator!) Louis Durrant, AKA carrotcake, launched the Kickstarter for The Garden Path on July 21st, and hit their 100% goal earlier this week. Now, with less than two days left on the campaign, it's all about hitting those stretch goals — and the first one was achieved today. After meeting the original goal of £20,000 in funding, the first stretch goal aimed for £25k, and promised to bring the game to Nintendo Switch. The next goal is £30,000 for local multiplayer, which will be included in the game if the campaign reaches 130% funding in the next 40 or so hours. Read the full article on nintendolife.com |
Flynn: Son Of Crimson Is An Action Platformer To Watch In September Posted: 18 Aug 2021 12:00 PM PDT Featuring a rather cool mystical wolf-thing. The Switch eShop isn't exactly short of pixel-based action platformers, but that doesn't mean that there aren't a lot of good games in that particular genre. Flynn: Son of Crimson, developed by Studio Thunderhorse and published by Humble Games, arrives on 15th September and looks like it could be a fun time. As you can see in the trailer above it looks like a very polished, stylish title. Yes, the hero is trying to save their homeland, and you also have a mystical wolf-like creature called Dex that helps you. Below is some blurb from the publisher. From fall 2021, the game will be known as Pokémon Café Remix: Read the full article on nintendolife.com |

Among Us Devs Speak Out About Fortnite's Suspiciously Familiar 'Impostors' Mode Posted: 18 Aug 2021 08:30 AM PDT Understandably, they're not best pleased. Yesterday, Epic Games unveiled Fortnite's brand new 'Imposters' mode – a new way to play which, let's face it, is identical to Among Us. Epic's world-dominating battle royale game has never been shy of taking other people's ideas for its own, but yesterday's announcement caused quite the stir for just how blatant everything was. Understandably, then, some of the creative folk behind the real Among Us aren't best pleased with how the situation has gone down. As spotted by Eurogamer, several key figures behind the creation of Innersloth's social online multiplayer hit have spoken out on Twitter to express their frustration or vent their feelings. As with all of the other reveals he'll be free and unlockable through normal gameplay from day one, which is a nice touch. Read the full article on nintendolife.com |
Review: Boyfriend Dungeon - A Fun But Ultimately Shallow 'Dating Crawler' Posted: 18 Aug 2021 08:00 AM PDT Knee deep in dunj. Sometimes you come across a game that really makes you curious what the developers were thinking when they were first drafting it. Boyfriend Dungeon is one such game. It's a dungeon crawler, rather like Hades or Diablo, with the twist that your character is probably dating the weapon they're using to kill baddies. As ridiculous as it sounds, Boyfriend Dungeon often surprises you with how compelling it can prove to be. It's far from perfect, but this is the kind of game that will definitely strike a chord with an audience. The premise of Boyfriend Dungeon sees you assuming the role of a twenty-something, blank slate protagonist with next to no romantic experience in life. You go to stay with your cousin near Verona Beach for the summer, and he decides to make it his mission to hook you up with someone before the summer ends. Lucky for you, several of the local youths have the puzzling ability to transform into close-range weapons, which is perfect for going on romantic outings into nearby dungeons to kill some monsters. Pokémon Legends: Arceus Has New Pokémon, Including A Horrible Fish Ghost Bent On Revenge Posted: 18 Aug 2021 07:15 AM PDT Also, fluffy Growlithe! We've been checking our Pokémon Legends: Arceus bingo cards, and not a single one of us had "Basculin gets a new evolution". Basculin? The fish guy? We have to say, we weren't completely on board — at least, until we found out how GOSH DARN METAL he was. Everyone loves a Pokémon with a horrible back story, like Drifloon stealing children and Bewear crushing people to death, and Basculegion, the new evolution, is the newest member of the "wtf, Pokémon" ranks.
