Fallout 76’s Bombs Drop Event Brings Spooky Scorched, Sales, and Free Play Week

Posted: 19 Oct 2021 01:00 PM PDT

In the world of Fallout, October can be a somber time remembering Bombs Drop Day — the moment in the series' timeline where nuclear war devasted the planet. However, it also gave players an irradiated Appalachia to explore, build and quest with friends in Fallout 76, so we're making Bombs Drop Day a day to celebrate with a Spooky Scorched in-game event, sale and more!

Join in the Free Play Week

Haven't emerged from your Vault yet? Take your first steps into Appalachia for free from October 19 to October 25 during our Free Play Week! Want to keep playing after the Free Play Week is over? Pick up the full game (at a discount; more on that in just a moment) and all your progress will carry over, allowing you to jump right back in and keep playing.

Players on console will need an active Xbox Live Gold membership to partake in the Free Play Week. Additionally, the Windows 10 PC edition of the game will not support the Free Play Week promotion. PC players looking to access the Free Play Week can do so via the Bethesda.net, Steam, or Xbox Play Anywhere versions of the game.

Save During Out Bombs Drop Sale

From now until October 26, you can save up to 75% on Fallout 76 with our Bombs Drop Sale in the Xbox Store — perfect for players itching for more adventure after the Free Play Week, or just to grab an extra copy for a friend so they can join up with you! We'll also be discounting items in-game through October 25 with a Scrip Surplus and up to 50% off of Purveyor items. Atoms will also be on sale through October 25, allowing you to save big on Atoms to spend on new clothing and armor, C.A.M.P. items, emotes, and more.

Trick or Treat with Spooky Scorched

Finally, the Halloween season makes its way to Appalachia in Fallout 76! Starting October 19 until November 2, players might stumble upon Scorched dressed up in costume and handing out goodies. Okay, they're less 'handing out goodies' and more 'dropping goodies when defeated,' but that's no reason not to partake in a little trick-or-treating out in Appalachia. Learn more about the Spooky Scorched event in our Inside the Vault feature here.

Whether you're a newcomer or wasteland veteran, ring in Bombs Drop Day with your fellow Vault Dwellers and jump into Fallout 76 today! For more news and information on Fallout 76, head on over to fallout.com or check out our official Twitter account.

Football Manager 2022 and Football Manager 2022 Xbox Edition Debut November 9 with Xbox Game Pass

Posted: 19 Oct 2021 09:00 AM PDT

Last month we revealed the historic, headline-grabbing news that Football Manager 2022 with Xbox Game Pass for PC and Football Manager 2022 Xbox Edition with Xbox Game Pass will be available day one with Xbox Game Pass on November 9. Like you, we're counting down the days until you'll be able to take your seat in the digital dugout. Let's delve into new features and game upgrades to give you an idea of what you can expect in both FM22 and FM22 Xbox as you work your way to becoming a managerial great.

Football Manager 2022

Unparalleled Realism

Football Manager is the closest experience there is to being a real manager at one of the world's greatest football teams. The professional world of football has been carefully modelled and recreated to empower you to live out you dreams in your own football story. From signing the best talent and youth prospects, to creating a winning tactical identity – you're in control of the decisions that define your club's legacy.

In FM22, you'll have full control over all aspects of football management – both on and off the pitch. You'll not only be tasked with building a team capable of challenging for the biggest prizes in football, but you'll have to deal with the demands and expectations of your players, the fans, the owners and the media along the way.

FM22 Xbox takes you away from the media circus and streamlines your interactions with fans and the owners, allowing you to focus on the managerial essentials – transfers, tactics and matchdays. If you want to focus solely on squad building and escalate your ascent to the top of the footballing world, there's also the option to skip straight to the final whistle using our 'Instant Result' feature which simulates your result.

Tailored to work across the Xbox ecosystem, FM22 Xbox is designed to make full use of the Xbox Controller – including a wealth of improvements in this area for the new season – and harnesses the power of Play Anywhere technology that allows you to transfer your progress between your console and Windows 10 PC using the same Xbox Live profile. If you're playing on Xbox Series X|S, you'll also benefit from stunning 4K visuals.

Football Manager 2022

New Season, New Features

This year, we've placed a real emphasis on giving you more tools to succeed. We've focused on making the squad information more intuitive and actionable. We've also improved the interactions you have with key backroom members, who now support you far better – just like in the real world of football. As well as boosting your pre-match planning, we've introduced a wide range of features that advance our everlasting pursuit of creating the perfect football management simulation.

A major new addition across both FM22 and FM22 Xbox is the Data Hub. This is the home of all your analytics and where you can gain insights and advice from your backroom team that can boost your chances of success on matchday. From data on your team's overall performance to individual player analysis that can influence how you manage their development, there is more information that can shape how you get the best out of your squad. You can also access new data visualisations such as pass maps and momentum graphs that make it clearer where things went right or wrong for your team over the course of the 90 minutes. In FM22, you can take things even further and take more hands-on role with data analysis, requesting reports and visualisations on specific areas. The best clubs use data to power their performance on the pitch… now you can also.

We've brought a suite of improvements and upgrades to the match experience in both FM22 and FM22 Xbox that make it our most realistic simulation of on-pitch action to date. An improved animation system – including the addition of root motion – ensures that player movements on and off the ball are better replicated. On the ball, players will now benefit from a wider range of animations – such as Cruyff turns –that can help unlock opposition defences while returning managers will notice big improvements in the smoothness of player animations. Our AI has also reached new levels with enhancements to the pressing system as well as tweaks to pass accuracy and first touches that make the passage of play over a match feel more realistic than ever. We've also introduced a new player role, the Wide Centre-Back, which can be deployed in a back three defence to either overlap the midfield and turn defence into attack or hang back and deal with the threat of opposition wingers cutting inside.

Transfer Deadline Day has also been expanded in both FM22 and FM22 Xbox to include more of the excitement, speculation and intrigue that surrounds one of the most dramatic days in the football calendar. You'll be more informed of done deals as they happen as well as deals that are under negotiation and players that have just become available on the market for you to snatch from under a rival's nose.

We recently delved into these features and other FM22 additions such as the new Staff Meeting in our In the Studio series, featuring special guests from the SI team and the world of football, such as Fabrizio Romano. Both episodes can be found on the Football Manager YouTube channel.

This year for FM22 Xbox, we've placed a lot of focus on improving the way that the game's user interface works with the Xbox Controller to make navigating from screen to screen even easier. We've revisited the UI across the whole game and looked at ways that we can make improvements across a multitude of screens that add up to a significantly improved experience when using the Xbox Controller. This is particularly noticeable when scrolling through screens containing tables and lists with the new ability to multi-select rows of information. You'll also want to keep an ear out while working your way through the game as we've added in some new sound effects as you interact with the UI.

Finally, another new feature specifically built for FM22 Xbox is News Effects. This gives you clear feedback on how player morale or player attributes (such as Passing or Tackling) have been impacted by your actions or events at your club, for example if you comment on transfer speculation relating to a particular player in your squad. They're displayed along the bottom of relevant news items with positive effects being reflected with a thumbs up and a thumbs down displaying if the player or group of players have been negatively affected.

Football Manager 2022

Earn It for your Club

Overcoming the odds and earning your success is what Football Manager is all about. Whether it's fighting your way to the top of the game and shocking the world or clawing your way back from the brink – these are the moments that taste sweetest.

With more than 2,000 clubs across 53 nations available for you to choose from, where will you earn it in FM22 and FM22 Xbox?

Celebrate 25 Million Sea of Thieves Players with an In-Game Gold Giveaway and 25 Things to Try!

Posted: 19 Oct 2021 07:00 AM PDT

Summary

  • Mark Sea of Thieves passing 25 million players by checking out 25 additions to the game from 2020-2021, including Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life and Season Four's Sunken Kingdom.
  • Pick up a gift of gold and Doubloons to celebrate this milestone, and be in with a chance to grab 25 million gold!
  • Sea of Thieves is available free for all players with Xbox Game Pass and across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam.

The pirate ranks of the Sea of Thieves continue to swell, as we're happy to announce that we've reached the auspicious milestone of 25 million players! With the introduction of Seasons earlier this year, and our epic crossover with Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean in Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life, we've seen a huge influx of players casting off for the first time and enjoying all the new features and content. We're going to need a bigger boat…

With so many sailors heading out for the first time, and well over a year gone by since we outlined 38 Things Added to Sea of Thieves Since Launch, we want to mark the 25 million player milestone by showcasing 25 new features we've introduced since then. As an extra celebration, anyone who plays Sea of Thieves between October 19th (3pm BST) and October 26th (3pm BST) will receive a special login bonus of 25,000 gold and 25 Doubloons. On top of that, one randomly picked pirate who hands in treasure during this period will earn a payout of 25 million in gold!

Now let's list our 25 things to try – and don't worry if you're yet to set sail on the Sea of Thieves or it's been a while since you were out on the waves, as all major content updates have been added for free so you can jump in and enjoy the experience right away!

Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life

Our biggest addition to Sea of Thieves since 2019's Anniversary Update, the big Disney crossover Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life sends you on an adventure alongside Captain Jack Sparrow in five brand new Tall Tales, where you'll clash with the infamous Davy Jones on a quest to save the pirate way of life. Engage in epic battles, solve puzzles and explore places not just in the Sea of Thieves but beneath and beyond it too!

Seasons

Introduced at the beginning of 2021, Seasons overhauled both Sea of Thieves' update schedule and in-game progression system to give players new ways to play on the seas. We're currently in the swing of Season Four and you can read about how Seasons work right here, but in short – each Season lasts roughly three months and brings in new features, so far including new areas to explore, Voyages, Events and rewards, along with 100 levels of Seasonal progression to be climbed just by playing the game, awarding Season-specific goodies.

Sea of Thieves

The Sunken Kingdom

First seen as part of the Tall Tales in Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life, the Sunken Kingdom acts as the tentpole feature of Season Four, letting you dive deep into the Sirens' undersea realm. Explore sunken Siren Shrines and uncover their mysteries, face down waves of Sirens and Ocean Crawlers as you scour Siren Treasuries, haul up brand new Coral treasures and more!

Emissaries

Added as part of 2020's Ships of Fortune update and recently expanded upon in Season Two, the Emissary system gives you an opportunity to act as an envoy of the Trading Companies on the seas. By raising your reputation and then raising an Emissary Flag, you can earn extra gold, reputation and special rewards from the Company you're representing as you hand in loot and defeat threats on the Sea of Thieves. Be warned, though – flying an Emissary Flag makes you a target for The Reaper's Bones…

Trials and Deeds

Added alongside Seasons in early 2021, Trials and Deeds provide sets of mini-challenges to tackle, awarding extra Renown to boost your climb to level 100 and unlock a wide range of rewards along the way. Each Season brings a refreshed pool of Trials and Deeds – can you complete them all before the Season ends?

The Reaper's Bones

The followers of this belligerent Trading Company were introduced alongside the Emissary system in the Ships of Fortune update. The Reaper's Bones strive for superiority and have no respect for the other Trading Companies, wanting only to send their Emissaries to a watery grave and take their Flags as trophies. If you see an Emissary of The Reaper's Bones out on the waves, be prepared for a fight. Of course, you can also choose to join them yourself…

Crew Costumes

First introduced with the haunting Soulflame Crew Set in 2020's Fate of the Damned update, Crew Costumes allow all crew members to dress up together in themed costumes, as long as one person owns the set – whether it's as members of Captain Jack Sparrow's motley crew or sailors from a faraway desert kingdom.

Treasure Vault Voyages

As the key addition in 2020's gilded Vaults of the Ancients update, Treasure Vault Voyages let you channel your inner bank robber by tracking down keys and breaking into hidden Vaults dotted around the Sea of Thieves. Solve the puzzle inside each Vault, and a Chest of Ancient Tributes is yours for the taking! Spend too long counting the gold inside, and the closing Vault may end up being your tomb…

Ashen Lords

Signalled by a swirling red tornado, it's always a big event when an Ashen Lord arrives on the Sea of Thieves. The headline addition in July 2020's Ashen Winds update, Ashen Lord battles present a fearsome challenge as you contend with not just these burning brigands' fiery assaults but waves of Ashen Skeletons and red-hot magma raining from the skies. Vanquish one of these lieutenants of Captain Flameheart and a flame-belching Ashen Winds Skull is yours to command.

New Shanties

Need a rousing song to play as your cannons rip through an enemy Galleon? Want to kick off a pirate's birthday party with a festive ditty? Our crews' original shanty songbooks were fleshed out with plenty of new options in 2020, including Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture and that old classic, Happy Birthday. Rumour has it there's also a special unlockable shanty for dedicated Commendation hunters in Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life…

Tall Tale Checkpoints

Added as part of May 2020's Lost Treasures update, this highly requested quality of life feature allows you to save your progress through the epic narrative-driven Tall Tales by reaching specific points along the way. Should someone on your crew have to nip off to make their dinner or if you find a persistent crew of Reapers on your tail, Tall Tale checkpoints give you the ability to pause your adventure without having to circle back to the beginning when you dive back in.

Captain Flameheart

Not only are his lieutenants yearning for a scrap, the feared skipper of the Burning Blade himself made a grand (re)appearance on the Sea of Thieves in the Haunted Shores update, complete with his ghostly armada. As his huge leering head in the sky taunts you into battle, expert helmsmen can try their luck at sinking Flameheart's fleet to earn some phantasmal plunder, including devastating Wraith Cannonballs. If you want to hunt Ghost Ships, but don't want the added pressure of Flameheart bellowing at you about supplies, you can also take on Ghost Ship Voyages with the Order of Souls and secure some valuable Damned treasures to cash in.

Cats and Dogs

These hotly demanded pets can now be found mingling with their avian and simian friends in the Pirate Emporium, meaning you can choose from a selection of four-legged breeds to join you on your high seas adventures. From the stocky Ragamuffin to the fluffy Inu, any one of these furry companions will act as the perfect mascot for your crew's wild adventures. Before you ask – yes, you can pet them.

Sirens

One of the many new threats that emerged as part of Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life, these denizens of the deep will emerge from the depths if you stay in the water too long, and also fiercely guard their Sunken Kingdom against intruders. While Sirens attack up close with their sharp claws, the fearsome Siren Leaders can also attack from afar using the Trident of Dark Tides. Don't forget to pick up the Siren Gems they drop once defeated!

Emissary Trade Routes

A tentpole featured added in Season Two, Trade Routes allow Merchant Alliance Emissaries to live the life of dedicated high seas traders. By acquiring Commodity Crates at an Outpost, canny corsairs can turn a tidy profit by consulting prices and selling these stashes of unprocessed raw materials at other Outposts. Remember – buy low, sell high!

Plunder Pass

If you want to max out the rewards on offer as you gain Renown and climb through the progression levels of each Season, the optional Plunder Pass adds exclusive goodies to the pool that aren't available anywhere else. Purchasable from the Pirate Emporium with Ancient Coins, a new Plunder Pass arrives each Season with a fresh crop of rewards, either partially or completely exclusive to that Pass until the Season ends!

Trident of Dark Tides

The signature weapon of the Sirens, this powerful pronged projectile weapon can be found around the Sea of Thieves or within the Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life Tall Tales and put to use for your own purposes. Charging the Trident to full power fires off an explosive bubble that packs a real punch – watch out for friendly fire!

Lost Shipments

Introduced in Season One, these Voyages let you help the Merchant Alliance find ships that never completed their trade missions. Track a ship's projected path, find clues to its fate along the way and collect the vessel's Manifest from its sunken remains. Keep an eye out for the key to the Captain's Quarters on your search, as the most valuable cargo is waiting inside for the taking…

Ocean Crawlers

Introduced in Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life, this triumvirate of deep-sea baddies shake up combat encounters with their unique skillsets. The hulking Crab packs a real punch and can protect its allies with a coral shield, the Hermit can belch clouds of poisonous spores and burrow underground, while the Eel-ectric can electrify both friend and foe with its shocking attacks.

Twitch Drops

If you've linked your Sea of Thieves and Twitch accounts together, you can tune in to Partnered Sea of Thieves streamers when Twitch Drops are active to earn free in-game items! Twitch Drops happen in intervals throughout a Season with new pieces of a selected cosmetic set on offer each time, so don't miss out.

Reviving

Getting blown up by a Gunpowder Barrel or burnt to a crisp by a firebomb no longer guarantees you a trip to the Ferry of the Damned! Crewmates can now revive downed players by reaching them in time to coax their soul back into their body. Should help be too far away, you can choose to speed up your soul's passage to the other side instead, getting you back to the action that little bit faster.

Resource Crates

A long-requested feature added in Season Two earlier this year, Resource Crates allow you to easily prep for your next outing by stocking up at any Outpost. Whether it's cannonballs, wooden planks or even a box full of bananas you need, you can save yourself having to run around rifling through barrels at the start of each session by picking up one of these pre-filled crates from the Merchant Alliance!

Phantoms

Joining the fray alongside Sirens and Ocean Crawlers in Season Three, Phantoms now haunt islands up and down the Sea of Thieves, spooking unsuspecting sailors with their ferocious speed and ability to phase in and out of combat. Watch out for their vicious lunge, and attack when they become visible!

Forts of Fortune

These supercharged Skeleton Forts will net you a bumper loot haul, complete with guaranteed Athena's Treasures, but they involve dealing with extra waves of foes including some explosive surprises and gruelling boss waves. Beware of bandits too, as the Fort of Fortune Key shows up for all players once the Fort has been conquered – so make sure you've got a clear escape route…

Accessibility Updates

Even as we expand Sea of Thieves' world with new gameplay experiences, we've made it our mission to regularly add accessibility features in our free content updates, removing barriers so that anyone can come and enjoy their own pirate adventure. From options such as single stick navigation through to text-to-speech conversion and the ability to tweak elements such as text size and position on screen, making Sea of Thieves accessible to all is a crucial ongoing aim for us as a team. If you have any further suggestions for accessibility features, let us know via our Support site!

So those are our top 25 picks of recent features to check out in Sea of Thieves – there's still so much more we could have mentioned including highlights of our regularly refreshed time-limited Events, ongoing quality of life additions, and new batches of Commendations and Xbox achievements. But for now, a big thank you to each of our 25 million players to date, a warm welcome to all our curious new corsairs, and a reminder to log in for your celebratory windfall of gold and Doubloons!

Celebrating Three Epic Months of Back-to-Back Blockbuster Game Launches in Xbox Game Pass

Posted: 19 Oct 2021 07:00 AM PDT

This has been a remarkable year for Team Xbox and for you, our fans. We welcomed Bethesda to the family, announced a new slate of games together in June, and launched Psychonauts 2 and Microsoft Flight Simulator, two of the highest-rated games of the year, into Xbox Game Pass. Twenty-five million players have now joined us in Sea of Thieves and your passion for Series X-shaped appliances has made the "Mini Fridge" a real thing. Our players are at the heart of everything we do and we couldn't be more thankful for your incredible support.

Now, just weeks before the Xbox 20th anniversary in November, we're excited to kick-off three epic months of back-to-back blockbuster game launches in Game Pass:

  • The Age of Empires franchise has been a major part of Microsoft's gaming legacy for 24 years and the Oct. 28 launch of Age of Empires IV will be our biggest yet, bringing the evolved real-time strategy game to a new generation on Steam and Game Pass for PC on day one.
  • On Nov. 9, gaming's premier racing franchise returns when Forza Horizon 5's open-world adventure in Mexico speeds into Xbox Game Pass. Our biggest Forza Horizon ever and winner of the Most Anticipated Game of E3 award, Forza Horizon 5 will launch simultaneously on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PC and Steam, and Game Pass including console, PC and Cloud Gaming (beta).
  • The Master Chief returns on Dec. 8 with Halo Infinite. This is the Halo we imagined 20 years ago, finally come to life in the largest Halo game we have ever made. Halo Infinite will be available in Game Pass when it launches across Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Game Pass Ultimate members will also receive monthly multiplayer bonuses as part of the Perks program.

Our teams have also been expanding on the games you love. These last few months you explored Minecraft: Caves & Cliffs Part 1, Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life, State of Decay 2: Homecoming, Grounded: Hot and Hazy, and last week's Halo: The Master Chief Collection Season 8. We're honored that millions of you continue to play in these worlds together.

Over the past two decades, the Xbox community has made gaming a place of joy, inspiration, education, and social connection. Games build bridges and forge bonds between friends and family, as well as give people new ways to connect.

We invite you to join us on Nov. 15 to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Xbox and Halo with a fun, digital broadcast for fans around the globe. While we won't announce any new games, this anniversary broadcast will be a special look back at 20 years of Xbox. We'll share more details soon, so stay tuned.

We’ve been hard at work to deliver three months of back-to-back game launches. And while we hope you’ll join us in celebrating 20 years of Xbox history, know that we’re hard at work on the road ahead and what’s to come in the next 20 years.

Microsoft Flight Simulator: Game of the Year Edition Coming November 18!

It has been an amazing journey since we launched Microsoft Flight Simulator on PC. The core flight simmer audience embraced the new experience immediately and with Xbox Game Pass for PC, a new audience of PC gamers was attracted who had previously never played a flight simulator before.

Microsoft Flight Simulator Game of the Year Edition

In July 2021, we launched Microsoft Flight Simulator on Xbox Series X|S and welcomed millions of console players to the flight simulation experience. We introduced new features such as Discovery Flights, expanded tutorials, Flight Assistant, Map Labels, and Land Anywhere, that are aimed to assist newcomers to successfully enter the world of Microsoft Flight Simulator. This release brought numerous improvements to the sim including significant performance gains that benefitted the PC audience as well.

And the launch was just the beginning. Throughout the past 14 months, we delivered major monthly updates: six World Updates and six Sim Updates that constantly improve the experience. And today, we are pleased to announce the Microsoft Flight Simulator Game of the Year (GOTY) Edition. This new edition celebrates all the positive feedback, reviews and awards garnered, but it is also a "Thank You" to our fans – new and old – that have made Microsoft Flight Simulator such a phenomenon.

Here is what is included in the GOTY Edition:

New Aircraft

We are adding 5 brand new aircraft to Microsoft Flight Simulator:

  • Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet: Our first military jet and a highly requested feature from the community. The Top Gun: Maverick expansion will release with the movie next Spring, but we wanted simmers to have the opportunity to test their need for speed this holiday.
  • VoloCity: We partnered with well-known German company Volocopter, which is working on an eVTOL called "VoloCity", a vision for an urban air taxi. We worked closely with the Volocopter engineering team to develop an authentic version of the prototype aircraft for the simulator. This is our first aircraft that can perform pinpoint landings and is a teaser of what you can look forward to in 2022 when we intend to launch helicopters in the sim.
  • Pilatus PC-6 Porter: This legendary short takeoff and landing (STOL) utility aircraft is a highly versatile plane from Switzerland and comes with several cockpits, cabins, and landing gear variations. It is the result of our close collaboration with the manufacturer and the development efforts by famed developers Hans Hartmann and Alexander Metzger resulted in a great and fun new aircraft with exception capabilities in the simulator.
  • CubCrafters NX Cub: Yakima-based CubCrafters recently introduced a nosewheel option for their flagship CC-19 XCub Aircraft, popularly called the NX Cub, which we are pleased to introduce to the flight sim audience to further enhance our bush flying and off airport options.
  • Aviat Pitts Special S1S: One of our most popular planes gets a single-seat option with the release of this aircraft.

New Airports

We are adding 8 handcrafted airports in Central Europe and the United States:

  • Germany
    • Leipzig/Halle Airport (EDDP)
    • Allgäu Airport Memmingen (EDJA)
    • Kassel Airport (EDVK)
  • Switzerland
    • Lugano Airport (LSZA)
    • Zurich Airport (LSZH)
    • Luzern-Beromunster Airport (LSZO)
  • United States
    • Patrick Space Force Base (KCOF)
    • Marine Corps Air Station Miramar (KNKX)

The Game of the Year release is adding information about 545 previously missing airports in the United States.

New Missions

Based on the popularity of the recently introduced Discovery Flights, we are adding an additional 6 locations (Helsinki, Freiburg im Breisgau, Mecca, Monument Valley, Singapore, and Mount Cook) to this popular series.

New Tutorials

To further expand the onboarding experience, we are adding 14 new tutorials, introducing simmers to Bush flying (in an Icon A5) and IFR (in a Cessna 172).

New Features

We are also pleased to introduce several highly requested features by the community: an updated weather system, early access to DX12, and a dev mode replay system.

New Photogrammetry Cities

As part of our ongoing collaboration with Bing Maps, we are pleased to add a number of new photogrammetry cities: Helsinki (Finland), Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany), Brighton, Derby, Eastbourne, Newcastle, and Nottingham (UK) and Utrecht (Netherlands).

Windows 11 Collaboration

To celebrate the launch of Windows 11, from October 19 to November 18, we have selected 11 landmarks across the globe that will be lit up in Windows blue within Microsoft Flight Simulator. In addition, we are releasing a special Windows 11 themed livery for the EXTRA 330LT for simmers to add to their collection.

And, best of all, the Microsoft Flight Simulator Game of the Year Edition will be available as a free update for existing players on PC and Xbox Series X|S. For new users, the GOTY Edition is the perfect entry point to flight simming as it offers an even richer experience, and it will be the item they purchase as we are retiring the original.

We can't wait for you to experience this expanded edition of Microsoft Flight Simulator on November 18. We encourage you to invite your friends to experience the wonders of flight. The sky is calling!

Microsoft Flight Simulator is now available on Xbox Series X|S with Xbox Game Pass, Windows 10/11 with Xbox Game Pass for PC, and Steam.
