| Mayhem Brawler Takes You to the Skies with the Air Supremacy Update Posted: 24 Nov 2021 12:00 PM PST Officers of Stronghold have squared off against the hexes of wizards, put lycanthropes behind silver bars, knocked vampire teeth out, and faced spectral powers of Mejin's since August 19th. It would be safe to assume that the crime rate has dropped, but far from it. In a city that never sleeps, you can never lower your guard. With the newest Air Supremacy update, officers will receive plenty of additions to their arsenal! But how did this update become a reality?  Let’s Go Crazy! During Mayhem Brawler’s beta, some of our playtesters expected more fast-paced combat from time to time. Rather than our strategic approach to the battle system, brawlers just wanted to go crazy with the action. But the release was right around the corner.  After a few brainstorming sessions, the team decided to augment the combat for a future update, but we needed diverse alternatives. Alternatives that would not break the balance of the game. It was time to observe some old-school games, and irresistibly, we have taken a page out of Capcom’s beloved Versus series, most notably, the second title; Marvel Super Heroes. One of the most beloved franchises of all-time in the history of fighting games that are famous for their roster and marvelous combos. Every title has a special place in our hearts, but back in the day, due to the popularity of comic books, this game was an exceptional experience, along with X-Men: Children of the Atom.  These titles were the games that defined the franchise’s combat mechanics in general. OTG (Off-the-ground) attacks that juggle your rivals, relentless chain-combos, launchers, aerial combos, and flashy super special moves. These were the mechanics that made this franchise unique in its core system. It never gets old to land crazy combos against your rivals and feel exhilarated. At Hero Concept, we wanted our players to feel the same emotions we felt while playing these amazing titles and bring nostalgia to those who experienced them back in the good old days while preparing this update. Thus, it was time to turn our inspirations into actions!  We have been efficiently updating Mayhem Brawler, but the 2.0 Air Supremacy will be its grandest enhancement yet. By not only presenting new moves to execute on your arsenal but with overhauled combat mechanics, officers will take their fight to the skies. Counter incoming enemy attacks, launch them in the air, strike knocked-down opponents to hurl them up for juggling opportunities, unleash a flurry of aerial combos, and land the final blow with new air special attacks. | Devastation Will Be Unleashed Upon Rust Console Edition Posted: 24 Nov 2021 09:00 AM PST Survivors, the first free content update for Rust Console Edition, Devastation Unleashed, is coming November 25! This exciting new update brings brand new mechanics like the tech tree, gestures, adjustments to the gun handling, aim assist, and a host of quality of life improvements and bug fixes! The Tech Trees fundamentally change the way players progress in Rust Console Edition. No longer will you have to rely on spending your scrap on a random tiered blueprint at the workbench – you can now unlock the items you need the most. Collect scrap from around the map and construct a workbench in order to access the Tier 1 Tech Tree. From here, you can use scrap to unlock different branches of items depending on your playstyle. Do you prefer to build and fortify your base? Unlock defenses and traps to confound your enemies! Or do you prefer the more direct approach? Then unlock guns and ammo to eliminate your competition more efficiently!  Every item has its own tier, so you’ll need to collect more scrap and build a higher tiered workbench to unlock more end-game items. You can always try your luck on the Bandit Camp spinning wheel for some extra scrap, but don't forget, the house always wins… You will still be able to research items from the Research Table as you could before, so there are now multiple paths of progression. Spoiler warning: Martha was dead, to begin with. Our journey with Martha Is Dead has been a long one. From mastering and developing new and existing technologies, through to balancing the style and tone of the visuals and perfecting and fine tuning a powerful and poignant story. We're happy to say that our development journey is now coming to an end, and we're excited to announce that Martha Is Dead will be launching on the Xbox family of consoles on February 24th, 2022. If this is your first time being introduced to the game, Martha Is Dead is a dark first-person psychological thriller, set in 1944 Italy, which blurs the lines between reality, superstition and the heavy tragedy of war. At the open, the desecrated body of a woman is found drowned – your twin sister, Martha. Alone, you must deal with the acute trauma of loss and the fallout of her murder, hunting for a truth shrouded in mysterious folklore, under the added pressures of war, through a deep, dark and multi-layered narrative.  From the earliest days of developing Martha Is Dead we knew we needed to push the boundaries of visual fidelity to help present the impact of our dark tale to the world. From the offset, we began testing the waters with brand new tech still in development and not yet mastered within the industry – from photogrammetry techniques through to the emerging metahuman technology from Unreal! In short, Martha Is Dead was built to cater to our own vision of where the next generation of gaming would go. We were on the right track to a degree, but the true power of the Xbox Series consoles surprised us, allowing us to push the envelope even further in our story telling and visual design to bring an even stronger connection to the intriguing and difficult story we needed to tell. Our tale may be thought provoking and "dark" to an extent, but we welcome players to freely explore our incredibly detailed recreation of the Italian countryside, by foot, bike or boat – both in stunning beautiful daylight and deep into the night – beautifully realised thanks to the power and versatility of the Xbox Series family of consoles.  You don't usually see key spoilers printed in giant letters on the front of a box, but hey, Martha is Dead – this is the key jumping off point into the game. Throughout your time with Martha Is Dead, you'll be living through the eyes of Giulia, the twin sister of Martha – freshly learning to deal with the loss of her closest confidant and the impact this has on her immediate family and ongoing life. Loss is an incredibly powerful and difficult emotion to convey, but this loss has come during a time of War, an already traumatic event to live through, made all the more daunting by the mysterious tale from local folklore regarding The Lady of the Lake, an ethereal entity and dark power which governs the lake where the body of Martha is discovered. The world is destroyed by a zombie apocalypse and the few survivors who have not turned into carnivorous monsters are fighting for survival. The story of our hero begins in the dark woods, where an infected woman gives birth to a little boy in the camp. The woman then turns into a zombie and kills everyone in the camp. A member of the group named Elder shoots a zombie woman with his AK-47, thus attracting a large horde of zombies in the area, so he goes to pick up a Minigun from the van and kills all the zombies around him. He then escapes in a van, saves the child and raises him as his own.  Twenty years later, the boy has grown into a large man and is known as “the Chosen One” in the settlement. The Chosen One will begin to learn basic survival skills, how to use firearms and heal people and help his neighbors with their problems. After a long time, the hero decides to leave the settlement and visit nearby cities, where he tries to solve how he got into the world and how to fight the insidious virus and discovers the mysterious background of the whole viral infection.  On his travels he meets many new friends, but also new enemies, and knows love, fear, joy and sadness. He will learn a lot of new skills and opportunities to break through this dangerous world. One of the charming points about RPGs is the ability to raise your own character and become a part of the world your character is breathing in. How about action games? As far as combat is concerned, there is no doubt that cornering your opponents and exploiting their weaknesses while showing off fancy moves all from the tip of your fingers can be very, very satisfying. Today we present you Unsouled, an action RPG that daintily mixes the elements of both genres.  Unsouled tells the story of Maras, a prince whose kingdom had fallen under a sudden raid of undead creatures. As Prince Maras, you must defeat countless enemies and bosses in order to discover the truth behind the kingdom’s collapse. Throughout the journey you will also help Prince Maras grow in strength by absorbing the “souls” the enemies drop. Souls in this game are symbolic and take up a large part of the game’s battle system as well. When playing Unsouled, combat is your only concern. No puzzles or winding and twisting maps to weave through; you’ll need that energy to brush up on your combination skills. Battles are fast-paced and require you to skillfully balance offense and defense, which is where souls and timed attacks come in. Souls are consumed to replenish your stamina, level up your skills, and even break large objects in the map to create pathways. In addition, you can time your attacks just right to perform counterattacks and a number of follow-up moves. It might take some time getting used to, but once you get the hang of utilizing all the techniques at your disposal, slashing through monsters will give you that incredible gratification only action RPGs will provide.
