Here's everything we know about Marvel's Midnight Suns.

Upon first announcement, Marvel's Midnight Suns had been set for March 2022. In November, the game was pushed back and is now slated for the second half of 2022, with no exact release date set yet.

Friday 'Nite: This Fortnite Winterfest Easter Egg Reveals The Dark Truth Behind Frozen Peely

Posted: 24 Dec 2021 10:00 AM PST

With Christmas being just around the corner, I wanted to focus this week's Friday 'Nite on something festive for the holiday. Maybe I'd talk about the history of Sgt. Winter, Fortnite's in-universe battle-hardened Santa. Or maybe I'd take a look at the best holiday-themed skins to date. But then I stumbled upon an Easter egg that is so fun, dark, and overall strange that it felt like something only Fortnite could pull off, and something no Fortnite fan should miss. In the world of Winterfest, it seems Crackshot is definitely on the naughty list.

If you've kept up with the Save The World story, you may know that Crackshot, the nutcracker character, is infamously sadistic. The man set up a fake kidnapping plot just to get everyone to bend to his festive will. When players discovered Crackshot was not only out of danger but actually threatening to do harm to hostages he'd taken if they didn't meet his demands for a holly jolly Winterfest, it became clear the nut had clearly cracked once and for all.

Have a holly, jolly Christmas--or else.
Have a holly, jolly Christmas--or else.

Eventually, players were able to quell and disarm Crackshot, not long after he called for Santa's head on a platter, but only through a serious commitment to his expectations for holiday decor and demeanor. The man is unhinged, he always has been. If ever you've been in line for a Black Friday sale, Crackshot is the guy at the front of the line who slept there all week and is ready to cut anyone seeking the TV on deep-discount that he's eyeballing. But here's what Epic hasn't revealed so plainly: Crackshot's log cabin, the annual home for wintry festivities, hides a dark secret involving the Fortnite fandom's favorite anthropomorphic banana.

Cobra Kai's Season 4 Terri Silver Twist Was A Long Time Coming

Posted: 24 Dec 2021 07:00 AM PST

It's been teased since the end of Season 3, but now Cobra Kai fans are about to finally see the return of maniacal billionaire Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) in all of his rich and evil glory. And while it may seem like it took a long time to get to the point of Kreeze (Martin Kove) calling in his fellow Vietnam war soldier (and the primary antagonist of Karate Kid III), Silver's return to the franchise has been part of the creative team's plan since the beginning of the show.

"We love the Terry Silver character from Karate Kid III. We've talked about his character from the beginning, you know, from before writing the first episode," co-showrunner Hayden Schlossberg told GameSpot. "You just don't know at what point he's going to enter in the early days. We didn't say, 'Okay, it's gonna be Season 4.' You really have to kind of plan things out. We knew that we wanted to have a lot of fun with that character and we wanted to devote the story space to that character."

That plan included bringing Kreese back into the fold and having him earn Johnny's (William Zabka) trust once more, only to steal the new Cobra Kai from him and run it as his own, ousting his former student. Now, though, with Johnny and Daniel (Ralph Macchio) working together to take out Cobra Kai once and for all in Season 4's All Valley Karate Tournament, Kreese is reaching out to the only person he thinks he can count on: Terry Silver.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever--Everything We Know About The MCU Sequel

Posted: 23 Dec 2021 12:04 PM PST

Despite the massive worldwide success of Marvel's Black Panther, the tragic death of star Chadwick Boseman in August 2020 cast huge uncertainty over the fate of the sequel. How could the film continue without its hugely talented leading man? But in May 2021 it was confirmed that the film was moving ahead with the title Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Obviously, the movie we will see in 2022 will be a different one to what would've been released if Boseman was still with us to play T'Challa. But even though he will leave a huge hole in the film--both emotionally and in terms of the story--a hugely impressive team has assembled in front of and behind the camera to bring the next movie about the hidden, high-tech African kingdom of Wakanda to the screen.

Production started last summer, and after a delay, will reportedly resume early next year. Wakanda Forever is one of three MCU movies currently scheduled for 2022, but is perhaps the most anticipated. So here's everything we know to date about Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Director Paul Feig Criticizes Sony For Excluding 2016 Ghostbusters Film In Franchise Box Set

Posted: 23 Dec 2021 11:33 AM PST

Director Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) took to Twitter to push back against Sony's upcoming eight-disc, franchise box set the Ghostbusters Ultimate Collection, which noticeably excludes his divisive 2016 Ghostbusters gender-swapped reboot.

Feig's film starred Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth. On social media, Feig offered that the studio must have made a "mistake," and that the film deserved inclusion because it "won the Kids Choice Award for Best Feature Film the year it came out." You can read his full response below.

As of this writing, representatives from Sony have not issued a response. Fans have speculated that because the film takes place in a different universe and is therefore not "canon," that could be a contributing factor to its exclusion. The Ghostbusters Ultimate Collection has the original 1984 film Ghostbusters, its 1989 sequel Ghostbusters II and the newly released Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which hit theaters in November.

Silent Hill Composer: "When I Heard Of Slitterhead, The Dots Had Finally Been Connected"

Posted: 23 Dec 2021 11:19 AM PST

Expect the soundtrack for Slitterhead, the new horror game from the creator of Silent Hill, to have a similar feel to that of the survival-horror classic. Slitterhead composer Akira Yamaoka, who also created the music for Silent Hill, says he'll be approaching the new game's soundtrack in a similar way: by using musical elements not normally associated with horror to create a different kind of fear.

Yamaoka detailed how he joined Slitterhead in an 11-minute interview posted on developer Bokeh Game Studio's YouTube page. In it, the famed composer speaks at length about both his approach to composition and his getting involved with Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama's new game.

Yamaoka says he first heard of the new game while out drinking with Toyama, who was using words like "Nineties," "urban," and "Asian taste." "When I finally heard of Slitterhead," Yamaoka says, "it's like the dots had finally been connected."

Battlefield 2042 Weekly Mission (Dec. 23-30): Deck Out Your M5C Bolte

Posted: 23 Dec 2021 10:58 AM PST

Though Battlefield 2042 hasn't started its official first season yet, developer DICE has added at least one new live-game feature in the form of weekly challenges with cosmetic rewards. For the week of December 23, Battlefield 2042's Weekly Mission requires a mix of offensive gameplay and support work, earning you a new skin for the M5C Bolte vehicle.

Here's what you need to know to complete the Weekly Mission, as well as some tips for knocking it out fast.

Weekly Mission requirements (Dec. 23-30)

  1. Earn 15 ribbons
  2. 60 enemies killed or teammates revived
  3. Resupply 40 teammates with ammo

To quickly make progress through this week's mission, you'll probably want to use either Angel or Falk. Both characters can revive any other teammates, not just squadmates, which means you'll be able to rack up lots of revives in addition to kills on enemy players and bots. While Falk revives players with more health, Angel is the better choice because of his Loadout Crate, which he can call in to resupply teammates--which should count toward the 40 you need to provide ammo. In this way, you can pushon multiple requirements at the same time.
