Yes, we still can't believe we're getting a new Mario Strikers game this year with Mario Strikers: Battle League. Pinch us. Or maybe just blow a whistle near us to make sure we wake up from this dream.

With renewed interest in the Mario football game series, GameXplain recently spoke to Mike Inglehart, formerly of Next Level Games — the studio behind the excellent soccer franchise, along with Punch-Out!! and Luigi's Mansion 3. While the full interview hasn't been published yet, the snippets we have seen give us a brief behind-the-curtain look at the original Super Mario Strikers on GameCube.

A Demi-fiendishly cool figure coming next year.

Pre-orders have opened for an outrageously cool looking Figma figure of Demi-fiend, the protagonist from Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne.

The posable figure comes with its own stand, two face plates offering differing expressions, plus multiple hands for specific poses, and several effect parts that let the character throw out Blue Steel or Magnum with the best of them (that is a lie: Blue Steel and Magnum poses are not included, although they should have been).

Earn Platinum Points to unlock new 'user elements'.

Nintendo has added 'Missions' and 'Rewards' to its Nintendo Switch Online subscription service.

These elements can be accessed by navigating to the NSO icon on your Switch home screen then selecting the 'Missions & Rewards' section. Here, you'll find a list of available missions, which are related to (as Nintendo puts it) "things you're probably already doing with your Nintendo Switch Online membership, like playing online or trying out the library of classic games."

Disney's Upcoming Free-To-Play Switch Racer Reveals A New Playable Character

Think you can clear up space for another racing game on the Switch? If so, then you might be interested in checking out Disney Speedstorm - a new free-to-play racer "coming soon" to Nintendo's hybrid system and multiple other platforms.

It will feature a "legendary roster" of characters and tracks inspired by both the Disney and Pixar universe, and in the lead up to the game's release developer Gameloft has been revealing the playable characters. The latest reveal is Elizabeth Swann from Pirates of the Caribbean.

EA Play Live Is Reportedly Skipping 2022

The third-party video game giant Electronic Arts - known for franchises like Battlefield, Need for Speed and FIFA - will apparently be skipping its annual 'EA Play Live' event this year.
