| Knockout Bash: Rocket League’s Smash-Hit Event Posted: 27 Apr 2022 11:30 AM PDT Smash! Crash! KaPow! These are just three of the incredible moments players will experience in Knockout Bash, a new in-game event available from April 27 to May 10. Knockout Bash will feature Knockout, an automotive free-for-all where eight players enter the Arena, but only one can make their way to the winner's circle. Throughout this event, players will unlock soothing Spring-themed rewards and free Golden Gift Baskets by completing in-game challenges.  How Does Knockout Work?You'll have to master Knockout's new mechanics if you want to survive. Knock opponents out of the Safezone or into Hazards to score a KO. Remember, the last player standing wins!
 New PvP ArenasAlong with new rules and mechanics, Knockout introduces three arenas that each have their own shape and obstacle placement. This lets players create unique strategies for each arena, always keeping their opponents on high alert.  Each Knockout Arena also contains several hazards, including spikes and a laser grid that lies below the platforms. Touching a hazard will result in an instant KO, so knocking opponents into them is a quick way to rack up points. We’ve been involved with tower defense for many years – it all started with a crazy total conversion modification for the action role-playing game Gothic 2, released in 2012. As a university project, the idea was revisited and eventually released as a standalone game in 2019: Elemental War was born (available for Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs). All the while, we continued to tweak the game mechanics and explore new graphical possibilities. The result after several years of work is Elemental War 2. Our very first original game Research and Destroy is now available! Research and Destroy is a turn-based action game playable in single player and co-op. What's turn-based action, you ask? Like in a traditional turn-based strategy game, opposing teams take turns moving and attacking with their characters. But instead of merely instructing units to move and fire (or research), you take direct control of them yourself like you do in an action game.  In Research and Destroy, you'll step into the shoes of three brilliant super scientists as you research and develop strange new weapons and gadgets to destroy the supernatural hordes that have crushed humanity. With the elimination of mankind, the supernaturals have created peace in their time – but that’s all about to change. Those poor ghouls don't stand a chance against the power of science! You'll gain fresh insights into the science of the spooky as you perform battlefield vivisections in your search for the source of the supernatural horde. Along the way you'll visit plenty of creepy castles, deadly deserts and vile villages filled with ghosts, zombies, vampires, trolls and who-knows-what-else. Your trusty (?) RadVan will keep you on your rightful (?) path of destruction – when he's not preoccupied with one of his many hobbies, that is. | The Cozy Grove: New Neighbears DLC Is out Now Posted: 27 Apr 2022 09:30 AM PDT In the year since Cozy Grove launched, we've released several major free content updates, and now we're excited to announce our biggest addition yet. We're bringing four new bears, along with new outfits, critters, and music, to Xbox with the New Neighbears DLC launching today. It's the job of the player as a Spirit Scout in Cozy Grove to help every bear work through their individual issues or circumstances. There are 17 distinct bears already in the game, and we made sure the four new bears would feel equally unique and meaningful to our players. All four of the new DLC bears have especially lengthy personal stories with no long waits between their requests and conversations. Making new bears for Cozy Grove is no small task. We don't just want to write engaging stories for them; we want our bears to represent real challenges that people face in real life. When you help a bear in Cozy Grove, we want it to be both something you enjoy and remember fondly, and also something that gives you a chance to empathize with others. | Enter the Medieval Fantasy World of The Serpent Rogue Today on Xbox Series X|S Posted: 27 Apr 2022 08:00 AM PDT It is with the warmest of salutations and greatest urgency that I welcome you, weary traveller, to The Serpent Rogue. What awaits you in this desperate and failing land is an alchemy driven sandbox action adventure, with roguelike elements and a focus on crafting and exploration – and most importantly, animals to befriend — launching for Xbox Series X|S today! Mount Morbus has been struck down by a terrible and all-consuming evil — the Serpent Rogue — and it is in your capable hands that I must leave the fate of this once vibrant and vivacious land.  Your quest will not be an easy one, and it will require you to think on your feet, using every tool at your disposal to disperse the lurking darkness. Potions can be crafted from ingredients foraged from the blooming landscape, from fish bones to mandrakes. Everything you unearth on your travels can be researched and repurposed into potions with varying results — some will heal, some will harm, and some will even change the user's appearance into something slightly more… furry. Be wary though, while the land around Mount Morbus gives, it also takes away, and the landscape will shift and change as areas are ravaged by unforgiving storms. Items and enemies that once littered the landscape will be replaced time and time again, offering up new chances and opportunities to save the day through different means.  The enemies you face in The Serpent Rogue may seem formidable, but you have an arsenal of weapons and skills up your billowing sleeves, more than enough to overcome the adversaries that stand in your way. If you have a penchant for open combat, you can take enemies on head-to-head, putting yourself in the line of fire and risking life and limb to reign victorious. If you would rather engage in more masterful combat, potions will prove themselves useful, turning enemies into small harmless animals, yourself into a formidable foe, or lulling enemies to sleep with a well-timed and well-placed concoction.  The beasts that prowl the sprawling lands of The Serpent Rogue are wild, but not so much that they cannot be lured to your side with their favorite snack. Tame the creatures you find on your travels and use them to your advantage in combat or to traverse the world before an incoming storm reshapes the very land itself. I hope this advice helps you as you journey into The Serpent Rogue. There is so much to be found! Hidden locations and secret passageways tucked away in every forgotten corner of the expansive map. I will leave you with this: Be sure to tread carefully as many of the actions you make in The Serpent Rogue have real-time consequences — leaving food lying around will call vermin to the area; and if bodies are left unburied, ghouls will appear lured by the unbearable scent, leaving death and destruction in their wake (neither of these options are favorable, in case you were unsure).  It is time for me to depart but my leaving signals the beginning of your own adventure, so go forth and explore, The Serpent Rogue welcomes you into its snare! And remember, it is on your very shoulders that the fate of the land balances. | Posted: 26 Apr 2022 08:00 AM PDT Thompson Trophy-winning classic racing planes of the Golden Age of Air Racing, now available in the Microsoft Flight Simulator marketplace.The Microsoft Flight Simulator team is excited to announce their latest release in the Famous Flyers series of aircraft, the Gee Bee Model Z and Model R-2 Super Sportster, single-engine, single-seat racing monoplanes designed and built by Granville Brothers Aircraft of the United States. The company ("Gee Bee" is a phonetic representation of the initials GB) produced a few different iterations of the design, notably the Model Z and the Model R-2. Each is one-of-a-kind, and each is regarded as a historic great of the Golden Age of Flight due to its unique looks and blazingly fast performance.  Urged on by early successes with their "Sportster" race aircraft of the late 1920s, the Granville Brothers created their first Super Sportster, the Model Z, to race at the Thompson Trophy pylon race at the National Air Races at Cleveland, Ohio, in 1931. The brothers, five in all, pushed the limits of aircraft technology at that time to squeeze every possible drop of speed out of their design, including one of the first uses of a wind tunnel. The result was a racing legend with a burly fuselage, straight main wing, traditional tail unit, and a cockpit located just forward of the leading edge of the vertical stabilizer, perhaps the Super Sportster's most notable characteristic. Powered by a 9-cylinder Wasp Junior radial engine, the Model Z finished in first place at the 1931 Thompson Trophy and inspired the Granville Brothers to create even faster Super Sportsters.  The Model R-2, built for the 1932 National Air Races, was built based on the Model Z and looks virtually identical, the primary differences being that the R-2 has a slightly longer fuselage and wing. During the 1932 races, the R-2 placed fourth in the cross-country Bendix Trophy Race and fifth in the Thompson Trophy Race.
