A cosmic gunshot expands towards the heart of a god and you must explore the universe, seeking clues on how creation might be undone. ![]() Genesis Noir is a creation myth and a film noir. A love triangle erupts between No Man, a watch peddler stuck in a deterministic hell, Golden Boy, a narcissistic artist who loves to create and destroy, and Miss Mass, an alluring jazz singer who attracts all who come close. The Big Bang results and history begins! ![]() From the birth of stars to the emergence of life and beyond, you'll explore the deadly Big Bang. This wide range of settings is presented in black and white, paying homage to the contrast of classic film noir photography. Hand drawn 2D animation and 3D environments are combined to create beautiful transitions between scenes of cosmic scale and the tiniest clues for your investigation. ![]() With a focus on tactile puzzles and exploration, you'll experiment with objects in small slivers of the universe to discover how they can be manipulated to progress your investigation. Dial a rotary phone; destroy a civilization; plant a garden; improvise with a musician; create life — all in your search for a way to save Miss Mass. ![]() Like any good noir film, Genesis Noir is filled with a bopping jazz soundtrack, sounds of silent streets, and the ambiance of cosmic microwave background. You might even play a tune or two yourself. We've been working really hard on Genesis Noir and are happy to announce you can help destroy The Big Bang starting today! It's been tremendously fun learning about astrophysics, classic film, human history, and science fiction to create a pulpy story with touches of existentialism and we hope you enjoy playing Genesis Noir as much as we loved making it! ![]() Genesis NoirFellow Traveller $14.99 $11.99 Xbox One X Enhanced Xbox Game Pass A noir adventure spanning time and space. You play as No Man, a watch peddler caught in a love triangle with other cosmic beings, Miss Mass and Golden Boy. Death’s Door Coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One This Summer Posted: 26 Mar 2021 12:02 PM PDT As we revealed on today's /twitchgaming Showcase: ID@Xbox, we're thrilled to reveal Death's Door and announce that it is coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One this Summer! This is a dream game for our small team, and we can't wait to share this unique and distinctive world we've been busy handcrafting over the past few years! Death's Door is a fantasy action-adventure set in a world where Crows are in charge of reaping the souls of the dead, operating from their headquarters known as the Hall of Doors. One of the Crows (that's you) gets sent on assignment to a twisted place where nothing has died for several centuries… Venturing beyond the Doors you will find a vibrant, fully explorable open world, filled with weird and wonderful characters, intrigue and secrets. Creatures here live far past their expiry, causing their souls to overflow with greed and power. The longest-living inhabitants have become colossal tyrants conquering each of the corners of the region, with backstories and motivations of their own… You're a reaper, and their corrupted souls need retrieving – I'm sure you've figured out what you need to do! Be prepared for varied and intense challenges along the way to each of your targets – a healthy mix of mini brawls, action-packed romps, and boss battles. Combat is easy to get to grips with – your dodgeroll and slash combos are fluid, fast, and responsive – but you'll want to utilize unlockable weapons, arrows and magic abilities to become an unstoppable Reaper. Or, you can pick up an umbrella at the office and use that for every fight in the game. We won't stop you. Either way, don't forget to take those precious souls back to the Hall of Doors to trade in for stat upgrades to match and enhance your playstyle. Death's Door is a challenging game that tells a dark and somber tale, but all that doom and gloom is balanced out by touches of humor and positivity. You'll bring hope to the memorable lineup of uniquely strange yet friendly characters who are trying to make their way in this sinister world. You can fill the stagnant land with new life by planting seeds everywhere you explore, inviting little forest spirits to make their home here (and maybe even take a liking to you!) All the little details are what get us really excited at Acid Nerve, and we're super pleased at how many fun little touches and deep secrets we've managed to get into the game. This all adds up to what we hope is going to be an unforgettable adventure with a vibe all its own, that tells an engaging tale and takes you on a satisfying journey. We can't wait for you to play it! Related:This Week on Xbox: March 26, 2021 Genesis Noir Available Today with Xbox Game Pass Over 20 ID@Xbox Games Coming Day One With Xbox Game Pass |
Twelve Minutes is Coming Soon to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 Posted: 26 Mar 2021 12:00 PM PDT Today, during /twitchgaming Showcase: ID@Xbox, we announced that Twelve Minutes, our interactive thriller about a man trapped in a time loop, is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 very soon. In Twelve Minutes, you play as a man coming home for what should be a romantic evening with your wife. The night twists into a nightmare when a brutish policeman breaks into your home, accuses your wife of murder, and beats you to death… only for you to wake up, suddenly returned to the moment you opened the front door. Your wife is blissfully unaware of what is about to happen, but you… you remember everything. Every time twelve minutes elapses or the man dies, the loop restarts and pops the man right back to the start of the evening. The other characters revert to the state they were in when we met them, but every experience the protagonist endures affects him permanently. As your knowledge accumulates, a twisted and surprising story unfolds, tearing the facade off the idyllic couple's lives. Twelve Minutes features accessible, point-and-click controls that allow for an immersive experience with little to no hand holding. It's just you, the man you control, and the choices you make. And it all happens in real time. The experience is enhanced by an all-star cast. Willem Dafoe portrays the intruder, Daisy Ridley the woman, and James McAvoy the man who the player propels through the narrative. Stay tuned to Xbox Wire, twelveminutesgame.com, and our Twitter to be the first to learn more. Find the Impostor When Among Us Comes to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One in 2021 Posted: 26 Mar 2021 11:12 AM PDT When Among Us first came out in 2018, it came out with very little fanfare. A few downloads, some social media posts, and that's about it. There was no way to predict how many people would eventually pick up the game, and honestly, we're still in shock over how it's all happened. Who knew sneaking around, accusing your friends of murder, and being wrong could be so fun? ![]() Among Us is about two different seemingly conflicting ideas – that you need to work together with your crew, but also that you can't trust anyone but yourself. This has spawned so many amazing moments, and it's been so fun hearing stories from our communities of all the ways Among Us has helped them connect with friends, family, and other fellow crewmates all over the world. So many people have connected over our game – livestreams, songs, animations, schools, work, charity events – we're grateful. And, as was mentioned in the /twitchgaming Showcase: ID@Xbox today, we can't wait to get our game out to more people, no matter their preferred platform! ![]() Considering how our game started as nothing more than a small, local, mobile only experience, it is so cool to us that it'll be coming to Xbox consoles and Xbox Game Pass with online and local multiplayer. And the best part is being able to play with your friends no matter what platform they're on – hooray for cross-platform play! The Xbox version of Among Us will also include our newest and biggest map, The Airship. ![]() Hopefully, I'll see you on Among Us sometime, whether that's on Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One with Xbox Game Pass. I can't wait to see the kinds of shenanigans you get up to with your crew… or if you find our you're actually better as an Impostor. Watch out for that eject button! Drinkbox Studios Presents: Nobody Saves the World Posted: 26 Mar 2021 11:02 AM PDT Howdy! I'm very excited to share what we revealed during today's /twitchgaming Showcase: ID@Xbox – Drinkbox's new game, Nobody Saves the World. And by "Nobody," I mean you; you play the hollow-eyed baby-thing Nobody (and you're going to save the world). The Calamity is spreading monsters and gross corruption everywhere. The wizard hero Nostramagus is nowhere to be found, but you've stolen (borrowed?) one of his magic wands and are taking matters into your own tiny hands. The wand lets you morph into many unique forms — a rat, knight, horse, mermaid, robot, and lots (LOTS) more! It's up to you to master these forms and their powers to defeat the Calamity. After tackling platformers (Mutant Blobs Attack!!!), metroidvanias (Guacamelee!) and dungeon crawlers (Severed), we wanted to try making an Action-RPG the Drinkbox way. To us, that means getting rid of our frustration points, and adding as much charm and variety as possible. ![]() For example, you don't grind enemies to level up or unlock forms in Nobody Saves the World. Instead, you complete quests. There's lots of quests to complete and while some are serious ("kill 10 enemies without getting hit") some are less so ("fall in love," "get sat on"). Early on, you'll learn to mix and match the abilities of your forms, opening a bazillion combos. A knight that bites everything like a rat? A robot that gallops around like a horse? You bet! As you explore the game's vast overworld, you'll discover dungeons and battle through them to push back the Calamity. A dungeon might be a castle or cave, but it might also be a giant rotting pumpkin or a crashed UFO. Dungeons are procedurally generated to make sure the game stays fresh and gets increasingly difficult the further you go. There's always a new dungeon, form, quest, or challenge just around the corner. ![]() A final bit of excitement to leave you with: we're super jazzed to have composer Jim Guthrie (Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, Below, "Indie Game: The Movie") on board for the soundtrack! As usual, Jim's work is absolutely incredible, and we can't wait for you all to hear it. Nobody Saves the World will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 PC later this year, and will be available on launch day with Xbox Game Pass. We'll have even more to announce as we get closer to release, so please look forward to it! Prepare to Explore, Fight, and Survive in Rust on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One Posted: 26 Mar 2021 10:30 AM PDT The wait is almost over. Double Eleven is excited to bring you one of the most exciting survival experiences ever created! Rust Console Edition will be available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S this Spring and you can be among the first to set foot on the island by pre-ordering a copy right now from the Xbox Store. On top of that you will also get some awesome pre-order bonuses that include a Future Weapons and Tools Pack! Choose from the Base pre-order, Deluxe pre-order or Ultimate pre-order from the Xbox Store. ![]() Explore the terrain to prepare yourself for this harsh environment. Hunger, thirst and cold are just some of the many challenges you will have to overcome daily if you want to survive. Be prepared, never run low on food or supplies, and if you feel the need to rest you can always build yourself a place to call home. Just don't forget to lock the doors; other players like to roam at night… Be ready to fight them off to protect what's rightfully yours, as well as deal with the radiation, scientists in hazmat and the wildlife roaming around the island. Calculate your every move. Learn to craft your own weapons and equipment to help you overcome most of these challenges. From rudimentary stone spears to some of the most advanced assault rifles ever created out of metal, springs and wood, the possibilities are endless and it's up to you to find the necessary materials to craft these pieces of equipment that will help you survive. In case crafting is not your cup of tea, you can always explore some of the monuments found in the map. Be careful though, these are some of the most highly contested hot zones in the game, so gear up and prepare yourself for some PVP action! If by any miracle you manage to survive, expect to get your hands on some of the rarest pieces of loot available in-game. Go big or go home! ![]() Another option to ensure your survival in this post-apocalyptic world is to gather a group of friends, create your own clan and maybe even build a small village. Express Yourself in The Kitchen with Soup Pot This August Posted: 26 Mar 2021 10:18 AM PDT Cooking means many things to many different people. It can be a way of sharing culture, bringing your friends and families together over home-cooked meals. Or it can be a hobby, challenging you to learn new techniques as you add to your repertoire of signature dishes. And for those who know their food is ready when the smoke alarm goes off, it’s a skill with room for improvement. Today, we’re excited to reveal our new game Soup Pot as part of the /twitchgaming Showcase: ID@Xbox, giving seasoned chefs and curious cooks a fun and relaxing way to experiment in the kitchen. Everybody eats, so it's not surprising that food is a central part of many games. We wanted to try something new, however. You're responsible for every step, from selecting ingredients, washing produce, chopping vegetables, cooking rice, searing meat, and dozens of other interactions. Don't worry, though: We don't like doing dishes, so you don't have to clean up when you're finished. We were inspired by the events of the past year, and we incorporated them into Soup Pot. You may be alone in your kitchen, but you're preparing food for a lively audience who is tuning into your live-streamed cooking show. They'll cheer you on when you're on a roll and tease you when things aren't going quite as planned. As you gain more familiarity in the kitchen, you’ll get access to more recipes and stock your fridge and pantry with hundreds of ingredients. ![]() ![]() You start out with a single recipe for Sinigang, a sour and savory pork soup, though you'll learn to prepare 100 different dishes over the course of your culinary journey. We based the first 66 of those on dishes that we at Chikon Club eat the most. We worked with some top regional chefs from the region to make sure that the ingredients and recipes were authentic. Those recipes aren't strict guidelines, however. We really want to replicate the best part of cooking, which is experimentation. Perhaps you want to stick with organic ingredients. Maybe you don't like mushrooms. What would happen if you decided to add a little extra salt into that sweet dessert? You won't get kicked out of the kitchen or get a "game over" for trying new things, even if they don't work out as you'd planned. ![]() We appreciate the skill and artistry that goes into fine cuisine, but we’re bringing a sense of silliness to Soup Pot, too. Ingredients say their names when you add them to a dish, dough squeals when you poke it, and the soundtrack contains an eclectic blend of Filipino artists – all providing food-referencing tunes. ![]() Our goal is to inspire players to extend that playfulness, improvisation, and experimentation into their real kitchens. Cooking is a lot of fun, and Soup Pot is one of the ways we’re sharing that feeling with the world. Soup Pot is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10 PC this August 2021. Inside Xbox Series X|S Optimized: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 Posted: 26 Mar 2021 09:00 AM PDT One of the biggest benefits of all that power in the hardware is giving developers the ability to make games that are Xbox Series X|S Optimized. This means that they've taken full advantage of the unique capabilities of Xbox Series X|S, both for new titles built natively using the Xbox Series X|S development environment, as well as previously released titles that have been rebuilt specifically for the console. In our Inside Xbox Series X Optimized series, producers will share their behind-the-scenes accounts of how they're optimizing titles for Xbox Series X|S and what that means for the future of gaming. Today, we'll be chatting with Activision Producer Jason Coker about optimizing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 for Xbox Series X|S. Also, check out the game in action with today’s This Week on Xbox. Q: “What excites you most about developing and bringing THPS 1+2 to life on next-generation hardware?" A: We have a really solid remaster in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2, and the power of Xbox Series X|S allows us to take something great and make it even better than we'd imagined. From frame rates to improved visual effects to the pure speed in performance, it's essentially like supercharging a supercar. Q: In addition to benefiting from the power and performance of Xbox Series X|S for quicker load times etc., what Xbox Series X|S features were you most excited to explore leveraging in the development of THPS 1+2? A: The raw horsepower of the new Xbox gave us the ability to push visuals even further, which is a huge win for us. We leveraged the faster GPU to offer higher native resolutions (Note: The Xbox Series X version of the game will run native 4K at 60 FPS, while the Xbox Series S version will render at 1440P and upscale to 4K. You will need a 4K compatible display for 4K resolution.), and to improve the game's visuals through better quality shadows and atmospherics (bloom, lens flare, reflections). We also increased the texture quality used on the in-game skaters. Quick resume is also a wonderful feature. While we'd love it if players were always on THPS, they'll have to shut down their Xboxes and sleep sometimes, and they might even play other games here and there. With Quick resume players can jump right back into THPS mid-grind without missing a beat, and the speedy hard drive makes the experience much smoother. It was also easy to support cross-generation save files on Xbox for players who go from playing THPS on Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S. It's a very smooth and seamless experience for the players, and it was straightforward to implement. Q: How will these enhancements impact a player's experience with THPS 1+2? A: The additional graphical horsepower allowed us to do a deeper dive into making the game more visually immersive. The lighting, HDR, atmospheric effects, improved framerates – it looks so amazing that it's sometimes just a fun to watch someone play as it is to be at the controls because you have more opportunity to soak in the full whole screen and really appreciate the upgraded visuals. Likewise, the smooth framerates make everything feel silky smooth. A lot of work went into ensuring that this remaster was true to the feel of the original two games, and while we certainly tweaked the original controls for an improved experience, playing on next gen is just such an overall leap forward in the look and feel of the game that I think players are going to be blown away. Q: Why did your development team choose to focus on [4K@60 on Series X; 1440p @60 on Series S, cross progression support, spatialized audio, high fidelity atmospherics, etc.] as enhancement areas for THPS 1+2? A: Playing at 60fps with 4K makes everything look at feel really fluid, and we felt like that was a very special and important feature for players. A lot of players of the original games will have that ol' THPS muscle memory once they get their hands on the controls, and the improvements we made to the controls are that much better with a consistent, higher frame rate. Add in the fact that it looks absolutely gorgeous at 60fps, and it was kind of a no-brainer once we knew it was possible with the power of Series X|S. Q: How do you expect fans of THPS 1+2 will respond to playing it on Xbox Series X|S with these enhancements? A: I'm certain that they'll love it. Even beyond the next gen enhancements, there are tons of improvements and new features to the game that make it a new experience even for old school fans. The extensive Challenge system, robust Create-a-Park with the ability to share and remix parks, Create-a-Skater, 8 player online multiplayer, improved controls, and additional moves that weren't in the first games are just a few. It's also super friendly to newer players, so we expect to see a whole new generation of THPS lovers. Add all of those with the power of next gen, and it's a recipe for a perfect remaster. Q: What is it like developing on Xbox Series X|S? A: The faster hardware made the whole development experience go smoother. For example, you can iterate so much more quickly with the fast load times because of the new hard drive performance. This allowed us to spend more time focusing on making the best game possible. Q: Which enhancement were you most excited about to explore leveraging for THPS 1+2 on Xbox Series X|S? A: Performance improvements in new hardware are always exciting. Tony Hawk is all about twitch gameplay, so the chance to offer 120 FPS at 1080p was super compelling. Also, we felt that the game's photorealistic art style and highly detailed environments made it a perfect candidate for leaning into increased lighting, shadow, and effects quality. Q: What does Xbox Series X|S development enable in current or future projects that you could not have achieved with the previous generation of consoles?" A: The SSD is an absolute game changer. Open world games will be that much better on XSX|S, and for games with more traditional loading, creative developers can hide their loading transitions to give players a more fluid and immersive experience by keeping players in the moment. It's a way to keep the narrative moving and to keep players engrossed in what's happening in-game. There's also that level of visual fidelity that wasn't possible before, and that only gets better over time as developers learn new ways to leverage the hardware.
