Nintendo Sold About 6 Million Switch Systems To Homes That Already Owned One Last Year Posted: 14 May 2021 09:50 AM PDT Nintendo sold more than 28 million Switch consoles during the past fiscal year, bringing the platform's lifetime sales up to 84.5 million. According to company president Shuntaro Furukawa, about a fifth of the systems that Nintendo moved last year were to homes that already owned one. "In the previous fiscal year, household demand for multiple systems accounted for roughly 20% of unit sales of the Nintendo Switch family of systems," Furukawa said during the company's latest earnings call. This means that roughly six million of the systems that Nintendo sold during the last fiscal year were to households that already have a Switch. Nintendo has long made it a goal to sell multiple Switch systems to families, and Furukawa anticipates this demand will only continue to grow in the future. "Going forward, we expect demand for multiple systems per household will increase even as hardware unit sales grow," Furukawa said. Continue Reading at GameSpot |

New Details On Dying Light 2's Factions, Open-World Events, And Whether Characters Will Return Posted: 14 May 2021 08:50 AM PDT Dying Light 2 developer Techland has released another AMA video, answering the most-asked questions about its upcoming game. Today's video doesn't touch on as many gameplay subjects as the last Dying Light 2 AMA, instead focusing on the upcoming game's characters, story, and various factions. With Dying Light 2 set several years after Dying Light 1 and in a different part of the world, fans of the franchise were eager to learn if any characters would be returning. Dying Light 2 lead game designer Tymon Smektała answered, saying that we wouldn't see any familiar faces from Dying Light 1 return. "So Dying Light 2 takes place in a completely different place and quite a lot of years after the events of the first one," Smektała said. "For that reason, you will not encounter any returning characters from the first game." That doesn't mean that previous characters or factions will be totally absent though. Kyle Crane, the protagonist of the first game, for instance, won't appear but will be mentioned in Dying Light 2. Continue Reading at GameSpot |

"It was really important for us to end Season 3 the way we did with a kind of like 'yah' as a feeling as opposed to ['aw'] where Season 2 went," he explained. "And we want to deliver on that feeling. We want to keep providing the dopamine that generates that good feeling. We want to make sure we're delivering on goosebumps, on tears, on belly laughs, and fist bumps. "It's the same recipe with different tastes and everything else," Heald continued. "But it's even bigger so we're really, really proud of what we're making so far. I can't wait for you to see what everybody's doing." Continue Reading at GameSpot |

Precisely, Dolby Vision HDR is a proprietary HDR format that promises boosted performance over other HDR options. According to Dolby, the format offers "brightness, contrast, color, and depth that goes beyond even traditional HDR games." The Xbox Series X|S will also be the only consoles with this tech available when it launches for Xbox Insiders. Dolby announced last year that, along with bringing its audio format Dolby Atmos to next-gen Xbox consoles, Dolby Vision would be arriving sometime in 2021. Continue Reading at GameSpot |
