Koei Tecmo's President Would Love To See A Super Mario Musou Crossover

Posted: 14 May 2021 07:05 PM PDT

But isn't sure how to "make this a reality".

Ever since Koei Tecmo teamed up with Nintendo to release Hyrule Warriors and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, fans have been wondering what other IPs from the Nintendo library could be adapted into a Musou game.

In a recent interview with JP Games, Koei Tecmo president (and the producer of Samurai Warriors 5, we might add), Hisashi Koinuma, was asked what video game series he would most like to see get a Musou crossover. Interestingly it's Nintendo's mascot, Mario:

There's An Animal Crossing Glitch That Lets You Sit In The Hot Tub

Posted: 14 May 2021 12:00 PM PDT

The Nintendo Switch is now a "hot tub time!" machine.

YOU CAN NOW SIT IN THE WATER IN ANIMAL CROSSING: NEW HORIZONS. This is not a drill, folks — though it is a glitch, and we can't promise that it won't break your game, so be careful if you want to try it out.

New Horizons players have figured out a new glitch in the game that lets you clip inside objects, including the paddling pool, the cotton candy machine, the rocket, the vending machine, and the hot tub. And, if you manage the glitch just right, you can even get into the water, although you might just fall through the world if you do it wrong.

Feature: Castlevania Season 4 Review - An Epic Ending To Netflix's Hugely Satisfying Series

Posted: 14 May 2021 10:00 AM PDT

Netflix's adaptation comes to its dramatic conclusion.

And so it ends. After four seasons which have defied expectations of what a long-form episodic adaptation of a video game series can really be, Netflix's macabre vision of Konami's Castlevania comes to a close in a 10-part epic which does a better job than you might expect of tying up all those loose ends – especially when you consider that it pulls narrative not just from Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, but Symphony of the Night, Curse of Darkness and several other entries in the long-running lineage.

While season 4 shares some of the same minor shortcomings that occasionally blighted seasons 1, 2 and 3, it also amplifies the good work seen in those same seasons, creating a storyline that makes excellent use of the core components of Konami's property whilst simultaneously weaving a plot that is both dark and engaging in equal measures.

Last Year, Roughly 20% Of Switch Console Sales Went To Households That Already Owned One

Posted: 14 May 2021 09:30 AM PDT

And Nintendo expects this demand to increase.

With the Switch doubling up as a home and handheld games console – and especially now that the portable-only Switch Lite is available – it's easy to see why multiple people in the same household would want their own system. Having multiple Switches in the house provides better multiplayer experiences, and enables everyone to play games simultaneously rather than having to take turns.

Of course, affording more than one games console isn't possible for everyone, but even with the Switch retailing at $299.99 (or $199.99 for the Lite), Nintendo has revealed that 20% of console sales last year were snapped up by those who already had a Switch in the house.

Mediatonic Accidentally Leaked The Fall Guys Source Code

Posted: 14 May 2021 08:30 AM PDT

BackUpThisFolder_ButDontShipItWithYourGame.

Someone — or potentially multiple someones — are having a really, really bad day at Mediatonic HQ, as the latest patch for Fall Guys included... their entire source code. Oops.

As you can see on SteamDB, a website which tracks changes to Steam's database, Fall Guys was updated with a bunch of new changes, but those changes included a new folder called — and we're not joking here — "BackUpThisFolder_ButDontShipItWithYourGame".

Random: Fans Are Having A Field Day Reviewing Nintendo Switch's Calculator

Posted: 14 May 2021 07:00 AM PDT

"GOTY".

An official screenshot of 'Calculator', now available on Nintendo Switch.

Earlier this week, Nintendo Switch got its very own Calculator. It's oddly pricey, and arguably entirely unnecessary, but the absurdity of it all turned it into one of the week's most-talked-about Nintendo Switch releases. We're being serious – news is slow right now.

Guide: Famicom Detective Club Guide - Walkthrough, Tips And Hints

Posted: 14 May 2021 06:00 AM PDT

I solve crimes with a little help from my friends.

After many years as Japan-only adventure games that released for the Famicom Disk System, Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir and Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind have been remade and brought to the West for the first time with a new localisation. Want to know which one to play first, or just need help with the story? You're in the right place.

We really enjoyed the Famicom Detective Club games (and you can read our reviews for The Missing Heir and The Girl Who Stands Behind separately if you don't want spoilers yet), but, being story-based adventure games that are over thirty years old, the games have a few... idiosyncracies that make it difficult to progress sometimes. If you're looking for hints, tips, and walkthroughs to get you through the game, look no further!

Chess Knights: Shinobi Is Making Its Move On Switch Soon

Posted: 14 May 2021 05:30 AM PDT

Check it out, mate.

It may be that Chess Knights: Viking Lands passed you by on Switch in March, but if you actually like chess you should look it up. At an extremely budget price you get a whole lot of chess-style puzzles to solve against some nicely themed backdrops. It does its job admirably, even if it's a very niche job.

If, like this writer, you did actually buy that one and fancy more chess-related puzzles, the next entry in the series arrives on 18th May - Chess Knights: Shinobi.

Poll: The Famicom Detective Club Games Are Out Today On Switch, Are You Getting Them?

Posted: 14 May 2021 04:00 AM PDT

Have your say...

It can be easy to get frustrated with Nintendo and the way in which it treats its legacy content – sure, you can play Super Mario Bros. on every system under the sun, but plenty of the company's more obscure titles are just impossible to enjoy legitimately these days. Thankfully, then, today's Famicom Detective Club launches are a pretty neat step in the right direction.

The two releases – Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir and Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind – were originally released for the Family Computer Disk System in Japan. For the first time ever, the two titles are now playable in English, and the graphics, music, and sound effects from the original games have been given a faithful, modern upgrade.
