Random: Mario's Speed Golf Would Look Absolutely Ridiculous In Real Life

Posted: 26 Jun 2021 10:30 PM PDT

Gotta go fast?

Nintendo has just released the latest entry in the Mario Golf series for the Switch. The gimmick unique to this one is "Speed Golf" - a mode where you tee off at the same time against other players and quite literally race through the course to get your ball in the hole first.

We must admit when Nintendo first showcased this mode in Mario Golf: Super Rush it was a pretty odd sight for such a sport (even by video game standards). Can you imagine how silly it might look if golf was played this fast in real life though? Well wonder no more - a TikTok user by the name of Daniel LaBelle recently shared a clip of what it would be like if people played golf as fast as Mario, and this is the result:

Nintendo Is Adding Another GBA Course To Mario Kart Tour

Posted: 26 Jun 2021 03:00 PM PDT

As part of the summer event.

Nintendo's mobile title Mario Kart Tour will soon be getting another content update. Ahead of the launch, it's been revealed as a new (but old) track - Cheep-Cheep Island from the Game Boy Advance generation.

Yes, it's another course from the 2001 title, Mario Kart: Super Circuit. This track originally appeared in the Lightning Cup and is known for its sunset skies...and Cheep-Cheep. It'll be appearing as part of the Summer Tour:

Review: Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights - A Metroidvania With A Stunning World To Discover

Posted: 26 Jun 2021 10:00 AM PDT

That's the spirit.

Just how many Metroidvanias is too many? It really feels at this point like the Switch is being completely overloaded with titles from the genre, but if we continue to receive quality experiences like Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights, then that's a-okay with us!

Despite its odd title (which is also a blatant nod to the stone-cold classic Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and its spiritual successor Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night), Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights is a strong take on the genre with a heavy focus on mood and tone above all else. It's a sombre tale with visuals and audio to match, but make no mistake, it's also chock full of challenging combat and vicious boss characters.

Monster Hunter Rise has been out for a number of months, selling an impressive number of copies while also showing the capabilities of the Switch hardware in the right hands. Guide: Best Nintendo Switch Football Games

Posted: 26 Jun 2021 04:00 AM PDT

We mean Soccer, not that 'other' football.

The European Championships 2020 are in full swing... in 2021. Yes, it's been a bit weird. You know what's also a bit weird? Being a football / soccer fan that owns a Switch. Nintendo's system somehow misses out on the 'Premier' games while getting bombarded with loads of smaller releases, and it can be hard to know which ones are worth a kickaround.

We haven't reviewed every football game on the Switch, so let's be upfront and say that some will be missing on this list that may be worth checking out. However, we've reviewed enough of them to share a winning 11 of the better ones here — oh yes, how very clever of us — and there's plenty of variety to be found. It you want simulation, tactics, comedy or arcade action, there'll be something here for you.

Random: Super Mario Sunshine's FLUDD Shows Up In The New Mario Golf Game

Posted: 25 Jun 2021 11:45 PM PDT

Is it a sign? Probably not...

F.L.U.D.D. might not be a household name, but if you're a longtime Mario fan, you've likely heard about this nifty device before.

It first appeared in the 2002 GameCube release Super Mario Sunshine and is an incredibly important tool for Mario throughout his adventure - a bit like the Poltergust 3000 in the Luigi's Mansion series. You might have even gone hands-on with F.L.U.D.D. when Nintendo re-released Sunshine in the Super Mario 3D All-Stars anniversary collection last year.

Random: Internet Goes Wild Over One Incredibly Small Detail In Metroid Dread

Posted: 25 Jun 2021 09:45 PM PDT

It's the little things that count.

Not only will we be seeing the return of Samus very soon but also MercurySteam - the same Spanish studio behind Metroid: Samus Returns on the 3DS. Metroid Dread Producer, Yoshio Sakamoto, recently noted how this team is "extremely talented", technically skilled, and has an "incredible understanding" of Metroid games.

It seems the Spanish-based studio is also rather impressive when it comes to attention to detail - with eagle-eyed fans discovering how the famous intergalactic bounty hunter will hold onto a wall in Metroid Dread to help her balance while shooting her arm cannon:
