Former Star Fox Programmer Would Be Interested In Making A New Entry Without The "Gimmicks" Posted: 28 Jun 2021 07:30 PM PDT "I would just dial it back a lot". The last new entry in the Star Fox series (excluding Star Fox 2) was Star Fox Zero for the Wii U in 2016. As you might recall, it didn't have quite the impact Nintendo was hoping for - receiving a mixed response. One of the main issues players had with it was the awkward controls. Some would just like to see Nintendo make the series fun again, and this includes Giles Goddard - one of the programmers who worked on the original Super Nintendo Star Fox game. Sakurai Says Smash Bros. Ultimate's Next DLC Fighter Really Will Be The Last One Posted: 28 Jun 2021 05:55 PM PDT "it'll be available this year as planned". The character roster in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate technically should have stopped expanding a while ago, but in September 2019 Nintendo announced it would keep going with a second fighter pass. So far it's given us Min Min from ARMS, Steve and Alex from Minecraft, Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII, Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and now Kazuya from Tekken. That brings us to the very last slot in Fighters Pass Volume 2. Read the full article on nintendolife.com |

Ultimate DLC fighter Kazuya, game director Masahiro Sakurai revealed what his own creation Kirby looks like when he uses his copy ability on the famous Tekken character. Random: A Modder Built Link's House And Animal Crossing's Resident Services In Far Cry 5 Posted: 28 Jun 2021 01:00 PM PDT Blathers has a gun now. It's incredible that Link's house in Breath of the Wild has captured the public imagination so, considering that it's A) not a very interesting house and B) Link spends about as much time in there as he does with Zelda. Yet, we've had people building the thing in LEGO and in miniature, as well as giving it a price estimate, and modding it to make it a wee bit more useful to its owner — and now, we've even got Link's house in Far Cry 5. Circa Infinity, The 'Brain-Melting' Platformer, Arrives On Switch This Year Posted: 28 Jun 2021 12:00 PM PDT Round, round, get around. The Switch eShop doesn't just attract new Indie titles, but is seemingly often on developer and publisher priority lists when re-releasing older games. Another to join the list is Circa Infinity, an intriguing platformer that first made its name on PC and Mac way back in 2015. Developed by Kenny Sun and being published on Switch and other consoles later this year by RedDeer.games, it's a circular platforming title with a rather neat aesthetic, combining with a soundtrack by Jack + Jim Fay. A Free Update Brings More Items And A Whole New World To 2D 'Goomba Sim' Wunderling Posted: 28 Jun 2021 10:30 AM PDT Wunderated. We rather enjoyed 2D platformer Wunderling when we reviewed it back in March 2020. Coming from Retroid Interactive, the game puts you in the shoes not of a hero, but of a lowly underling goomba-type — the sort of low level goon Mario would squish in World 1-1. This particular underling is granted the ability to jump, though. Wunderling charmed us last year and it has recently been patched with the free 'Kohlrabi's Ruin' update. We haven't been able to check it out just yet, but we're told it includes a whole new world (a new fantastic point of view), 15 new levels (plus 3 hidden ones), some new costume pieces, and what is described as a "stunning conclusion to the saga". Yep, we'll take all that for nowt thank-you-very-much. Read the full article on nintendolife.com |
New Great Ace Attorney Story Trailer Is Nearly Six Minutes Of Spoilery Goodness Posted: 28 Jun 2021 10:00 AM PDT Ye Olde Objectionne! It's going to be a while before we can tell you our thoughts on The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, which comes out after a six-year wait on the 27th of July. But, thanks to this six-minute gameplay trailer, we can say that we're incredibly excited to meet Ryunosuke Naruhodo, Phoenix Wright's nervous ancestor, who objects to contradictions by saying "Yes!", and his pal Herlock Sholmes, who is named Herlock Sholmes. Of course, nearly six minutes of in-game footage will potentially ruin story twists, so don't watch it unless you aren't too bothered about the minor reveals, or unless you have a brain like a sieve. Min Min amiibo Tease Confirms Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2 Figures Posted: 28 Jun 2021 08:30 AM PDT The collection grows. Nintendo has today confirmed the existence of a Min Min amiibo as part of the continued Super Smash Bros. line of figures. Sadly, we'll have to wait a while before we can get our hands on it. In today's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate presentation, which confirmed that Kazuya would be joining the roster from 29th June, series director Masahiro Sakurai gave us our first look at Min Min's amiibo, noting that it'll arrive in 2022. Review: Destroy All Humans! - Ray Guns And Probes Abound In This Silly, Simplistic Remake Posted: 28 Jun 2021 08:00 AM PDT Alien Resurrection? Black Forest Games' remake of 2005's Destroy All Humans! issues a warning to players upon launching into its campaign for the very first time. The overall experience, it says, has been upgraded but the content, the story, words and images, remain the same and may be shocking to modern human brains. It's an honest acknowledgement of some rather crude early noughties humour that's aged poorly in many ways — stuff that can come across as quite offensive in this day and age — but it's also a warning that's equally applicable to gameplay here, which really hasn't stood the test of time very well. Destroy All Humans sees players assume the role of Crypto, a rather vicious little alien who sounds suspiciously like Jack Nicholson, as he arrives on Earth in order to gather Furon DNA and investigate the whereabouts of his predecessor, a clone who vanished while undertaking the very same mission. Where this game excels is in its setting; in its depiction of a fictional 1950s America that's all white picket-fences, secret servicemen, Area 51-esque facilities and a brainwashed, paranoid public who fear the red menace and place their trust in totally corrupt government officials. It sets its B-movie stall out well, gives you a fine selection of ridiculous weapons, tricks and traps with which to go about your alien objectives but then, rather unfortunately, does very little with its promising premise. Neo: The World Ends With You Could Take 100+ Hours To Beat Depending On Your Playstyle Posted: 28 Jun 2021 06:00 AM PDT "There's a lot more to do in this game...". Just one month remains until the launch of Neo: The World Ends with You on Nintendo Switch, and it sounds like players will have plenty of content to enjoy when that date finally comes around. A sequel to the Nintendo DS classic, The World Ends With You, NEO will have players exploring the sights, sounds, and culture of the bustling Shibuya. It's said to be a larger, more content-packed experience that the original game, as explained by game director Hiroyuki Ito and series director Tatsuya Kando in conversation with 4gamer (translation via Nintendo Everything): Read the full article on nintendolife.com |
Random: This Penny Has Diddy Kong Engraved On Abe Lincoln's Shoulder Posted: 28 Jun 2021 05:30 AM PDT Diddy Kong 'graving. Well, here's a story to fill your random Nintendo ephemera quota for the day: someone has micro-engraved Diddy Kong onto a 1 cent coin. You know, as you do. As shown off by @VolksDK on Twitter, a friend (later identified in the Twitter thread) used a process known as 'ion milling' which apparently strips layers of atoms and enables you to engrave incredibly tiny things on objects of your choosing — things that look like a mere speck to the naked eye. UK Charts: Mario Golf: Super Rush Scores A Debut Hole In One Posted: 28 Jun 2021 05:00 AM PDT Nintendo takes six of the top ten. UK physical chart data is now in for the week ending 26th June, revealing that Mario Golf: Super Rush has gone straight in at number one in its opening week. Nintendo's latest Switch release beat last week's number one Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart to get there, also fending off the never-ending threat of FIFA 21. It leads a top ten consisting of six Switch exclusives, including plenty of familiar evergreen hits. Read the full article on nintendolife.com |
Reminder: Fuser Arrives This Week As A Nintendo Switch Online Trial Posted: 28 Jun 2021 04:30 AM PDT Mixing it up. Fuser was quite an intriguing release in late 2020, representing the latest effort in the genre from Harmonix. Unlike the classic formula of recreating music with timed presses on large plastic instruments, this one is all about working virtual mixers to create your own gigs. We quite liked it in our Fuser review, albeit the game's core mechanic means its approach to scoring, for example, doesn't make much sense. As a concept, though, it can certainly be fun. A hindrance to the game's success has been a relatively high initial asking price for a game that plugs numerous paid add-ons - with some free new tracks regularly added, to be fair - and a unique mechanic that is hard to 'sell'. It had a price cut recently, and Switch owners in PAL and North American territories will be able to try it for free this week as a Nintendo Switch Online Trial. The Live-Action Dynasty Warriors Movie Arrives On Netflix Very Soon Posted: 28 Jun 2021 03:45 AM PDT Looks both iffy and amazing at once. While there are (arguably) more bad than good movie adaptations of games, there are some out there that are fun despite the pitfalls of the genre. When trailers emerged for the Dynasty Warriors movie ahead of its theatrical release in China and Hong Kong it certainly showed some potential; it was produced by HMV Digital China and had multiple delays before finally arriving this year. At the start of this month Netflix confirmed it'd add the film to its services in Asia, and last week the word emerged that it's also coming to territories such as the US and UK on 1st July; that's some weekend viewing sorted out, right?
