New Multiplayer Mode: Double Agent Season Five introduces Double Agent, a brand-new investigative Multiplayer experience. In match, multiple players are assigned as Double Agents who must sabotage the mission. Expose the traitors before they wipe out the investigating team. It starts with up to 10 Operators who are assigned one of three roles:
Operators will receive their roles and may choose to employ a variety of weapons and skills to carry out their orders, including powerful items like Gas Mines, Counter Spy Planes and the Combat Bow. Demolition Returns Launching later in Season Five, the fan-favorite Demolition Multiplayer mode makes its Black Ops Cold War debut. New Gulag: Rush Comprised of the main paintball arena, the Rush Gulag should feel right at home for players who have been diving into this Black Ops Cod War Multiplayer map introduced in Season Four Reloaded. Get your practice in now before Rush arrives in the Gulag. New Mode and Event Prepare for 50v50 combat as Clash comes to Warzone. A spiritual successor to Warzone Rumble, Clash provides teams with unlimited respawns in a deathmatch to 200 points. Watch out for Contracts and public events that can turn the tide of battle. Later in Season Five, expect the next step in the evolution of the mysterious Red Doors. Beware, as their increased volatility has resulted in sending Operators to new locations. | How It All Started for Cardaclysm: Shards of the Four Posted: 13 Aug 2021 09:00 AM PDT When I was a little kid, we used to sit around on a blue carpet with my brother and we spent countless hours playing collectible card games. I remember some of these games having quite serious resource management aspects to them, which was simplified significantly when digital card games became popular. As I was growing up, I've played quite a few of these digital card games. The idea for Cardaclysm (or Shard as it was called back then), was that I wanted to see the cards I've played in 3D, fully animated, reacting to my attack commands or being hit. I also wanted to add a more serious version of resource management, much like those card games I've played growing up.  Shard started out as a quick prototype, and at first, it was only about the battles. I wanted to design a new multiplayer card game. In addition to the different take on resource management, I also wanted creature upgrades to be a central feature. By summoning two creatures to the same battlefield slot, you could get an upgraded, more powerful version of that creature. A few years ago, as digital card games became more and more popular, it became clear to me that making a multiplayer card game as an indie developer was no longer a feasible option. Most multiplayer indie games like this end up shutting down their servers and then years of work gets thrown out the window. I instead opted to extend the game concept with a world map and steer it towards a single-player experience with slight RPG elements.  I've rebuilt the Shard prototype to include a tutorial map and one random generated forest map. It included random encounters and very early versions of the deck and upgrade systems. Once I completed this demo, I sent it to Headup (my publisher) to check it out. I also included a single boss in the game, a fiery demon called the Infernal. The Headup guys were great, they gave valuable feedback right away and some of their staff got hooked on Shard pretty quickly. They recommended that we include the four horsemen of the apocalypse as main bosses instead of just the Infernal. The name Cardaclysm was born and we hired more artists to complete more than 100 cards planned for the game.  Fast forward roughly two years and we've vastly exceeded that plan with over 240 cards and 40 artifacts. I'm really proud of what we've created and how far the game has come since that small initial prototype. I hope we can extend the game even further at some point as I have a lot of ideas where to take Cardaclysm next. After a few years plugging away, I'm pretty stoked to be able to tell you that our second game, Art of Rally, is launching on Xbox and available today – day one with Xbox Game Pass! For any of you who like racing games, it's a spiritual successor to my last game, Absolute Drift, which was released on Windows & Xbox a few years back.  Art of Rally is a love letter to the golden era of rally driving that takes players across the world to drive through beautiful and soothing environments inspired by real locations from Finland, Sardinia, Norway, Japan, Germany and now Kenya too! What most players will never know is that I actually developed a large amount of the game while driving across North America in my camper van, before getting together a team at the end to launch it.  Some of you might recognize a modern cargo van, but I call it The Beluga and I converted it into an office-on-wheels for the bulk of the development! We went into the wild, stared at the big skies, travelled through tranquil forests and out across vast deserts. The craziest trip was a 6000km drive from Canada to Oaxaca, Mexico that timed with Hurricane Willa that ripped through Sinaloa.  My van has played such an important part in the making of my game, that it had to be in it. If you ever play Art of Rally, and happen to head somewhere down a road less travelled, you might just find it (sporting the camouflage livery from my previous game Absolute Drift)!
