Ghostbusters: Afterlife Ending Explained, Breaking Down The Post-Credits Scenes Posted: 19 Nov 2021 11:27 AM PST After being delayed for over a year, Ghostbusters: Afterlife is finally in theaters, bringing new life to a decades-old franchise. The new movie introduces a young cast of Ghostbusters, sees some returning favorites, and gives a hint at what's been going on with the spirit world since the end of Ghostbusters II. In his review of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, GameSpot's Chris E. Hayner said the movie "The Force Awakens level of homaging to the first Ghostbusters film," but that it strikes "a balance between action, family-friendly levels of horror, and a comedic tone that doesn't overpower the story. There are some decent scares in the movie, but nothing that should be too overwhelming for younger audiences. And while the other Ghostbusters films are undoubtedly in the comedy/horror genre, Afterlife is a sort of adventure movie more akin to The Goonies than anything else." Warning: The following contains spoilers about Ghostbusters: Afterlife. If you haven't seen the movie, stop reading now. Continue Reading at GameSpot |
Datamined WoW Shadowlands Patch 9.2 Arbiter Moment Leaves Fans Asking "Who?" Posted: 19 Nov 2021 11:19 AM PST World of Warcraft's Shadowlands expansion will culminate in the upcoming patch 9.2, where players will take on the Jailer as he seeks to put an end to all creation. Blizzard has described 9.2 as the final chapter of this particular book of the Warcraft saga, and as such it looks like the developer will be trying to tie up more than a few loose ends. One of those loose ends includes who is to become the Arbiter, the deity-like being responsible for sorting the various souls that flow into the different afterlives of the Shadowlands. If recent datamining is to be believed, the answer is catching more than a few players off guard. Potential Spoilers For Shadowlands Patch 9.2 AheadAccording to datamined dialogue and NPCs from the patch 9.2 public-test-realm via Wowhead, the minor NPC Pelagos will step up to become the Arbiter just before players journey into the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid to confront the Jailer. Datamined dialogue shows Pelagos talking about directing souls and about having found his path. His companion, Kleia, is shocked at this news. Continue Reading at GameSpot |
GTA 6 Rumors Are Flying Again, All Because Of This GTA Trilogy Photo Posted: 19 Nov 2021 11:13 AM PST Some fans are convinced an image from Grand Theft Auto VI was hidden in the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy: Definitive Edition, despite no real evidence that is the case. There is an image of a house in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas that was not present in the original version and it has sparked some discussion in the GTA community, with multiple people suggesting that the house is a tease for GTA VI. The image of the house (you can see the original version and an artificially touched-up version in the tweet below) is located in the UFO-themed Lil' Probe'Inn. The building has tons of pictures on the walls, all of which have UFOs somewhere in the image, including the supposed GTA VI image. The image was first shared on GTAForums, with fans immediately declaring that the image is from the new GTA game.
The reason people seem to think that the image is a tease for GTA VI is that the picture appears, at least to the fans, to exist within the RAGE engine, which Rockstar develops its games with. The GTA trilogy is based in the Unreal Engine, so the house is out of place in the game. Fans also said that the house does not exist anywhere within GTA V and that the driveway and palms trees fit a "typical Miami" house. Continue Reading at GameSpot |
When Does Halo Infinite Unlock: Release Times By Region Explained Posted: 19 Nov 2021 11:05 AM PST Halo Infinite's campaign is scheduled to release very soon, and the competitive multiplayer component is already out in beta right now. If you're looking to step back into Master Chief's Spartan suit and take the fight to the Banished, 343 Industries has shared the game's exact unlock time. So, when does Halo Infinite unlock, and does it vary by region? We break it all down below. Halo Infinite Unlock Time
Halo Infinite is using a global release model. This means that Halo Infinite's release time is simultaneous on December 8 rather than a "rolling" model like some other games use. The major time zones are outlined here: Note that the official map uses CST for New York. This is almost certainly an error. Continue Reading at GameSpot |
Netflix's Cowboy Bebop Is About Memory, Both For The Characters And The Viewers Posted: 19 Nov 2021 11:04 AM PST
If you grew up in the USA and are between the ages of twenty and forty, there's a good chance the title Cowboy Bebop inspires a few key memories in your head--staying up late, tuning into Toonami's Adult Swim block, dub voice actors like Steve Blum, Beau Billingslea, and Wendee Lee--the works. For many of us, it was a foundational experience with anime as a genre, especially in the days before streaming services and subtitled simulcasts, and as such, it unsurprisingly occupies a special place in countless hearts and minds. More importantly, the nostalgic pedestal it sits on for so many is well earned. It's hard to imagine a show that showcases the breadth of what anime is able to do as a medium better than Bebop, with it's effortless blend of genres, styles, and influences. It was completely unlike any of the Western cartoons of its day, and mostly unlike the other anime shows available in the West at the time as well--keeping in mind that for many, watching anime was an exercise in putting together disparate VHS tapes and scouring GeoCities web rings for episode summaries. Space bounty hunting may not have been a totally unique concept, but the adventures of Spike Spiegel, Faye Valentine, Jet Black, and Radical Edward were. They were so unique, in fact, that it's actually difficult to explain just what Bebop is really "about" without meandering through different one-off episodes, memorable side characters, and favorite songs on the soundtrack. The campaign is in the tubes and on its way to players around the world," Jarrard said. He also confirmed that Halo Infinite will see a global simultaneous launch worldwide, starting at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET on December 8, and shared an image during the showcase that confirms when the game launches where you live. Diablo 2: Resurrected Is Getting An Action Bar And A PTR Posted: 19 Nov 2021 10:38 AM PST Following an "outpouring of community feedback," Diablo II: Resurrected on PC will receive an Active Skill bindings bar that makes the game play more like modern ARPGs. It will also gain a public-test-realm in the near future, where players can test upcoming changes. In a blog post, Blizzard writes that players of Diablo II: Resurrected on console have access to up to 12 buttons, and those buttons instantly perform whatever ability is mapped to them. That's not the case on PC, where in original Diablo II fashion, players can only use the right and left mouse buttons to perform abilities. Players can swap between abilities with different keybindings, but actually activating the abilities has to be done with the right and left mouse. That will soon be changing, with Blizzard soon giving players the option between the two styles. "We've seen an outpouring of community feedback requesting this feature for keyboard and mouse play, too. We originally avoided this approach because we feared it would stray too far from the original experience, but the community is eager for it, so we're eager to deliver." Pokemon Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl Beginner's Tips Posted: 19 Nov 2021 09:38 AM PST Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are remakes of the Gen-4 Pokemon games, with some modern quality-of-life tweaks and enhancements. That means they're a unique mixture of new and old, so if you're an old-school Pokemon trainer or you cut your teeth on Sword and Shield, you may be surprised by some of the mechanics and conventions present in these remakes. Read on for tips on how to get started in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Choose your starter… wisely![]() The classic tradition of choosing from a Fire, Water, or Grass starter is back once again in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, but the composition of dungeons and gyms has a big impact on your selection. If you want a much easier time, choose Chimchar, the Fire-based monkey Pokemon. Its combination of Fire- and Fighting-type moves will remain useful throughout almost the entire game, with only a few exceptions when you're faced with Water-based areas. The other two are relatively evenly matched, but Turtwig is the slight favorite for the hardest experience of the three. Any of them will have their usefulness and of course, you can always catch and train up other Pokemon to fill in any gaps or weaknesses on your team. But if you want to essentially play Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl on easy mode, choose Chimchar. Continue Reading at GameSpot |

Deathloop Is More Than 50% Off For Black Friday Posted: 19 Nov 2021 09:32 AM PST One of the best PS5 games of the year is on sale for a wicked good price at multiple retailers. Deathloop, which normally goes for 60 bucks, is only $25 at GameStop as part of the retailer's Black Friday sale. Walmart will have Deathloop for $25 starting Monday. Meanwhile, if those sell out or if you're looking for free shipping with Prime, Amazon has Deathloop for $30. Best Buy also has Deathloop for $30. In short, you have a lot of options here.
Released back in September, Deathloop has you step into the boots of Colt, an amnesiac troublemaker trapped on an island locked in a time loop. The same 24 hours are repeated every day, and unless Colt wants to spend the rest of eternity living the same day over and over again, he'll have to break the temporal lock by assassinating several Visionaries who maintain the repeating cycle of time. The only problem? A rival assassin by the name of Julia is hunting Colt, and every time he dies he has to restart his journey from the very beginning. Deathloop has been on sale a few times since launch, but Walmart's deal is the best we've seen so far, and likely will see for quite a while, given how new this game still is.
