PEGI Rating Suggests XCOM: Chimera Squad Is On The Way To Nintendo Switch Posted: 27 Mar 2021 06:30 PM PDT Get ready to breach. Following on from the release of the XCOM 2 Collection on the Nintendo Switch last May, it looks like 2K could now be bringing XCOM: Chimera Squad to the hybrid system. This turn-based tactical squad shooter is a sequel to the expansion XCOM 2: War of the Chosen. This information comes from a recent PEGI rating, which suggests XCOM: Chimera Squad is on the way to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch. It's received a PEGI 16 rating for featuring sustained depictions of violence towards human characters and strong violence. Read the full article on nintendolife.com |
Surprise, The 3DS Is Getting Another Physical Release This Year Posted: 27 Mar 2021 11:30 AM PDT Andro Dunos 2 already confirmed for Switch release. The 3DS may have turned 10 recently after fading from Nintendo's business strategy, but the console isn't quite ready to die yet, it would seem. French publisher PixelHeart has just announced that Andro Dunos 2 – which is also coming to Switch – is getting a physical release on the 3DS, too. Read the full article on nintendolife.com |
Feature: Can't Buy Super Mario 64 On Switch Anymore? Psst! The N64 Original Is Better Posted: 27 Mar 2021 11:00 AM PDT EON discusses Super 64: PAL Edition. As you'll no doubt have heard, Super Mario 3D All-Stars — the 3D Mario collection that bundles Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy in a single Switch cartridge (or download) — will no longer be available to buy after 31st March 2021. Once retail channels are exhausted of existing stock, you'll only be able to get your hands on this limited-time package via secondhand stores, online sellers and auction sites. It's always a shame when games are delisted, and it's all the more surprising when it's one of the most important and influential (not to mention popular) video games ever. Nintendo's marketing tactics aside, there are many gamers that would argue Mario 64 — or any game — is best played on original hardware anyway. The Switch port might be more convenient and look sharper, but playing the game on a pad that doesn't have three prongs and a spindly analogue stick? That's just not right. Review: Neo Geo Pocket Color Selection Vol.1 - SNK's Handheld Classics Come To Switch Posted: 27 Mar 2021 09:00 AM PDT Bigger, Badder, Better. You've got to wonder what on earth SNK is thinking, sometimes. Releasing six individual Neo Geo Pocket Color titles on the Switch eShop was a fine idea, and Samurai Shodown! 2, The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny, SNK Gals' Fighters, SNK vs. Capcom: Match of the Millennium, King of Fighters R-2 and Fatal Fury First Contact were – quite rightly – received with enormous warmth. Now, though, we have the compilation release Neo Geo Pocket Color Selection Vol. 1. A fantastic idea on paper, but was it really wise to cannibalise its sales by including the previously-released six games as well as including four more that have never been re-released until now? While we're grateful to have access to Neo Turf Masters, Dark Arms: Beast Buster 1999 and Metal Slug 1st and 2nd Mission, this is the kind of move that engenders ill-feeling; why must committed Neo Geo Pocket Color fans double-dip on six games in order to get four more that aren't available elsewhere? Unless they are going to make the extra games available separately, in which case… announce that! Read the full article on nintendolife.com |

Random: GUH-HUH! Some People Are Fascinated By Microsoft's Name On The Banjo-Kazooie amiibo Posted: 27 Mar 2021 08:00 AM PDT Expect a repeat of this when Steve shows up. As you probably already know, yesterday marked the release of three brand new amiibo for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Perhaps the highlight was Rare's bear and bird duo from the legendary Banjo-Kazooie series. A lot of superfans out there are now posting pictures of this particular figurine on social media, and well, some individuals seem to be more interested in its base. For whatever reason, they're impressed by the Microsoft copyright - noting how "interesting" it is to see the name of the American tech giant on a Nintendo product. Talking Point: Should It Be Easier To Customise A Nintendo Switch? Posted: 27 Mar 2021 06:00 AM PDT You bought it, you break it. It's almost the dictionary definition of a first world problem, I know, but I've been having an awful time lately trying to make my Switch cute. Sure, there are a ton of Joy-Con colourways that I could drop at least 70 quid on, but the issue is that they aren't cute. Forgive me for being the kind of gal who wants lovely pastels in my life, but Nintendo's neon offerings just don't do it for me, and the heavy branding of the Fortnite and Skyward Sword Joy-Con is really not my jam. And sure, there's the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Switch, which is quite beautiful, but I don't want an entire Switch! I have one already, even though it's got more battle scars than a tank. We've crossed into a new season and territories across the globe are losing hours all over the place.
