Return to the Haunted Castle Rock in We Were Here Forever

Posted: 10 Mar 2021 12:00 PM PST

We are returning to the haunted Castle Rock with a brand new adventure! We Were Here Forever is the newest game in our We Were Here series of co-op puzzle adventures. You and a partner play the role of Antarctic explorers who find themselves trapped in a sinister castle — will you be able to escape?

We Were Here Forever

The team here at Total Mayhem Games has been busy designing new puzzles and uncovering new mysteries for you to discover! On a technical level, we're excited to make use of the power of the new generation of Xbox consoles. It's going to be very helpful for our plan to bring the world of Castle Rock to life in a way you've not seen before.

We Were Here Forever is the fourth game in the We Were Here series. That means more of the cooperative, two-player exploration and puzzle solving that fans have come to know and love. And when we say cooperative, we really mean it — our puzzles can't be solved alone, and often each player will only get a limited part of the information needed. You'll have to talk and work together if you're to have any hope of escaping with your lives. While each game is standalone, if you're a story fan we'd recommend you play Forever after completing the others: there are some shocking revelations coming…

We Were Here Forever

The Experience of We Were Here

One of our favorite things about our games is how many people have fun streaming them together! Especially in these times, it's heart-warming to see something we've made bring people together, and how everyone experiences the We Were Here games differently! We try to evoke a variety of emotions with our game design, from the satisfaction of solving puzzles to suspense of facing the unknown. One moment you might laugh at a mutual misunderstanding, and the next find yourself shocked at an unexpected revelation in the plot.

For We Were Here Forever we're planning the most thrilling adventure yet, and to enhance the atmosphere even further we're going to bring Castle Rock to life! Alongside the immersion of using walkie-talkies to chat with your fellow explorer, there's going to be a wealth of details to discover as you explore.

There's a lot to learn about the world of Castle Rock, as you'd expect from a series that will soon include four titles! The first two games in the series – We Were Here and We Were Here Too – were both set inside Castle Rock, while We Were Here Together introduced the Antarctic outdoors. For We Were Here Forever you will find yourself in the depths of the ancient citadel, but as for where you'll end up? Well, you'll have to find that out for yourself…

We Were Here Forever

Begin Your Adventure Later This Year

Everything is on track for We Were Here Forever to be released later this year! We have a lot more exciting stuff to share as launch day approaches – make sure to follow us on social media if you want the latest developments.

Until then, have you played the other games in the We Were Here Series? As we said before they're all standalone experiences for two players that will challenge you to communicate and keep your cool. That last part won't always be easy though…

Find out if you two have what it takes to escape, or if you'll remain trapped… forever!

Rogue Company Introduces the New Rogue Seeker and a New Map in Latest Season One Update

Posted: 10 Mar 2021 10:00 AM PST

Earlier this year, the team at First Watch Games launched Season One of Rogue Company, which introduced our first Battle Pass and a new Rogue, Kestrel. Today, we’re excited to announce the release of our latest update for Season One – available now on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One! Complete with our newest playable Rogue, Seeker, and one of our most ambitious maps to date. Let’s break down everything this update has in store for players!

First, let's take a look at the new Rogue who will be joining the roster of Rogue Company in this update. Seeker, a former gold medalist Olympian, joins the team as one of their youngest recruits ever – but don't mistake his age for inexperience! Recruited by Kestrel as an official member of Rogue Company in order to embark on a deadly mission, Seeker must now prove his mettle on the battlefield which a lifetime of training and competition has prepared him for! In-game, Seeker's bow isn't just deadly – dealing additional damage when you land a ricocheted shot on an enemy – it's also crucial to your team's tactics. With his Arrow Scanner ability, Seeker fires an arrow which reveals enemies along its flight path – giving your team an undeniable advantage on the battlefield!

Rogue Company - Seeker

This update also introduces our newest map, Hollows, to the world of Rogue Company. Built on a remote island, Hollows is a secret base of the mysterious vigilante organization, Jackal. Constructed in order to launch a stealth weapons platform into space via rocket, the Hollows will ultimately become a deadly battlefield in the fight for logistical superiority between Jackal and Rogue Company. Consisting of a large underground cavern, Hollows is a scenic location which belies its deadly intent – a fact not lost on Rogue Company, who have dispatched a team to sabotage the missile launch and save the day! Seeker's big moment will arrive when he has to make an impossible shot to disable the rocket, preventing it from launching – can he make the shot that he's spent practically his whole life training for? The release of Hollows will also include the introduction of the new limited-time mode called Assault, a 4v4 game mode where the attacking team must plant and detonate a bomb against the defending team. Fast-paced strategic gameplay makes Assault a game mode you won't want to miss!

Rogue Company - Hollows

We here at First Watch Games hope you enjoy the continuation of Rogue Company Season One with the release of Seeker, Hollows, and our limited-time Assault game mode on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Download and play the newest update of Season One of Rogue Company for free today!

It Just Got Easier to Discover Games on Xbox in Your Preferred Language

Posted: 10 Mar 2021 09:00 AM PST

With so many exciting games on the market, it's understandable that gamers may do some homework before committing to a title: that can entail reading reviews, looking up technical features, or just making sure a game supports the way we prefer to play. But it shouldn't feel like research. Today we're happy to announce updates to the Microsoft Store on Xbox and the Xbox Game Pass app to show you which languages a game supports at a glance.

You can now easily determine whether a game contains any in-game language support based on a 'Languages' label before you even open the product details page. In-game language information is being collected for three elements of the gaming experience – a title's interface, audio and subtitles – across 27 languages. We've already added language tags to hundreds of games and will add more over time.

With this update, when you log into the Microsoft Store on Xbox or the Xbox Game Pass app, you can easily see which languages a game supports, making it easier to decide if you'd like to purchase or play that title. This view will also show what aspects of the game have been localized for a given language, including the game's interface (game controls and on-screen menus, for example), the spoken audio you'll hear from the characters, and subtitles corresponding to that audio. To make it even easier, the language you select as the default for your console will surface to the top of the list; you won't have to scroll.

Xbox Supported Languages

The addition of language tags to the Microsoft Store on Xbox and in the Xbox Game Pass app on consoles is an important step toward our goal of making you and your friends feel at home when you play on Xbox. This update will make that easier, and help bring the joys of gaming to more people. Stay tuned, because later this year we will unveil more updates to make it even easier for you to find and play games that are right for you, meeting your unique preferences and needs. The world of gaming is vast and diverse, and we believe there is a perfect game or games for everyone – we're here to make that process quicker and easier.

Thank you!

It Takes Two’s New Trailer Gives an Exciting Peek into a Magical World

Posted: 10 Mar 2021 08:00 AM PST

Summary

  • Watch the exciting new trailer for It Takes Two, the next co-op action adventure from the award-winning creators of A Way Out.
  • Learn how the story and gameplay merge in an innovative and heartfelt experience.
  • Meet some of the weird and wonderful characters of this magical world – including a vengeful vacuum cleaner!

The new trailer for the upcoming action-adventure co-op platformer It Takes Two is here! It gives us another exciting peek into its magical world, the gameplay challenges and characters residing within, and how our protagonists Cody and May got there in the first place. Watch it now and learn even more below!

Rose, normally a happy and carefree 9-year-old, is devastated that her parents, Cody and May, have been arguing a lot as of late. It's bad, and they've decided to split up. Believing that her dad and mom are too busy to pay attention to her, Rose takes matters into her own hands.

In secret, she pleads with a self-help book titled "Book of Love" and two scrappy-looking dolls representing her parents. She cries and desperately begs them to stay together. Unbeknownst to Rose, her tears magically transform real-life Cody and May into the dolls, throwing them headfirst into a fantastical world.

It Takes Two

Here, Cody and May encounter Dr. Hakim – a living version of Rose's "Book of Love." Dr. Hakim claims that he promised Rose to fix their relationship. He further explains that this strange world they're now in is a result of their own neglect – both for each other and the things around them.

The vacuum cleaner they didn't get around to fix? Well, it's alive now, and out for revenge. The wasp nest that was never removed? It has sparked an all-out war between a gang of squirrels and the invading insects. That's just a taste of some of the obstacles Cody and May will have to overcome to get back to normal.

It Takes Two

As a "famous expert on love," Dr. Hakim has designed specific challenges for Cody and May based on his own philosophy on topics such as time, attraction, and passion. The key to success? Working together, of course!

Because in the genre-bending, magical, and disruptive world of It Takes Two, only one thing's for certain: We're better together.

Pre-order It Takes Two for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S today on the Microsoft Store for Xbox and get ready for a wild co-op adventure on March 26! With Friend's Pass, invite someone who you'd like to share this genre-bending, mind-blowing, co-op only platform adventure with – for free! Curious to learn more about May, Cody, Rose, and Dr. Hakim? Pacer Now Available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One

Welcome to the Pacer World Championship, pilots! Pacer is now available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One and I couldn't be more excited for the Xbox community to join the race and experience the thrill (and speed!) of high-octane, anti-gravity combat racing.

The year is 2075. You’re a fresh pilot on the starting grid, ready to take on any and all challengers to make a name for yourself and become the Pacer world champion. With race tracks, visuals, and audio design as intense as the 80+ song list, there’s something for everybody in what I call a love letter to the golden age of AG racing. Pacer takes a classic, high-speed formula and enhances it with a massive amount of features and custom settings to tailor the experience to your own liking.

Pacer

Want to know what it's like to race at 1,000km/h? In Pacer, customization and speed is the name of the game. Enter your garage and you'll discover 5 unique craft to choose from, plus an entire range of skins and accessories to set you apart from other pilots online and off. Dive deeper and you'll find a large collection of weapons and defenses to equip on your ship that can be further altered with behavioral mods, plus performance mods that change how your craft races, including braking, handling, engine, and (my favorite!) anti-gravity lift.

All of this is going to cost you, though. You'll earn credits by competing in the campaign, proving your skills online or taking part in one of the 8 race modes, including the unique “Storm” on-track battle royale mode. Choose to race with weapons on or off, set the number of laps, toggle collisions and even create custom music playlists with the in-game soundtrack. With 14 locations to race in (not including reverse, mirrored, day and night variants) and 4 speed classes to choose from (F3000, F2000, F1000 all the way to “Elite” for absolute speed freaks), the personal touch goes far beyond just your craft customization.

Okay, you've selected your craft, loadout, race type, speed class and track. Now what? On the track, you'll do battle with up to 9 other pilots online or offline, where it’s up to you to decide where to use your speed boosts, when to fly over weapon or shield pick-ups, and whether to leave your rivals in the dust – or in flames.

Whether you’re in it for the extreme speed, the high-octane combat, the leaderboard glory or the custom experience, Pacer is a destructive, futuristic racer that has you covered. I can't wait to see you out on the track, if you can catch me!
