Abandoned Trailer App Goes Live August 10 Followed By First Official Reveal

Blue Box Game Studios has attached a firm release date to the Trailers App for its PS5 exclusive Abandoned. We will finally get our first real look at the game in late August through the Trailers App, which goes live on August 10.

On the team's Twitter, Blue Box said preloading the Abandoned Trailers App will be free for all PlayStation 5 owners on July 29. In a follow-up tweet a few days later, Blue Box changed the app's name from Realtime Trailers to Realtime Experience--though it's unclear if this app is connected to the Abandoned Trailers App, furthering speculation around the survival sim.

Still, Blue Box said fans can expect multiple trailers with varying durations (from 5-12 minutes when they're ready), gameplay demonstrations, and future live events. Furthermore, the Realtime Experience App requires a PS Plus membership in Germany "due to legal reasons," the developer said.

Pokemon Unite Adds Gardevoir On July 28

A new Pokemon is coming to Pokemon Unite this week, The Pokemon Company has announced. The Psychic type Gardevoir is joining the free-to-play Pokemon MOBA tomorrow, July 28.

In terms of its battle style, Gardevoir is classified as a ranged attacker, able to use its psychic powers to battle foes from a distance. Few other details about the new Pokemon have been revealed so far, but you can take a look at Gardevoir in action in the video below.

Gardevoir is the first new Pokemon to join Pokemon Unite since the spin-off launched on Nintendo Switch, but more additional monsters are on the way, including Blastoise. The Pokemon Company has not yet announced when Blastoise will be added to the roster, but considering it has appeared in promotional videos for the game (alongside Gardevoir), it is presumably not too far off.

Bless Unleashed is a free-to-play MMORPG that's now making its way to PC, following its 2020 release on Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Set for launch on August 6, the PC version of Bless Unleashed will continue with the console's version fast-paced, action-oriented approach to combat and exploration--putting a greater emphasis on players being active in how they engage with the game's different challenges. GameSpot not only has some details on what's in store of the launch of the PC edition, but we also have an exclusive first look at a new cinematic trailer in anticipation of the PC release.

As a relaunch of the original Bless Online back in 2019, Bless Unleashed was effectively reboot, revamping much of the combat and progression systems while also generally improving its predecessor's technical shortcomings. These issues plagued Bless Online and prevented it from finding an audience, but the game's relaunch last year has since fared much better than the original.

In this new trailer, we get to see much of the game's scope and combat emphasis, which focuses on different classes of adventurers facing off against undead monsters, dragons, and other giant foes. Like with other online RPGs within the framework of a high-fantasy setting, Bless Unleashed will have you team up with others to explore dangerous dungeons, collect loot, and evolve your character throughout their adventure in the game's expansive world.

PAX West Will Require Attendees To Provide Proof Of Vaccination Or Negative COVID Test

PAX West will require fans, exhibitors, and all other attendees to show proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test in order to enter the event. The organizers of the notable gaming event announced the move on Tuesday, July 27, amid an uptick in coronavirus cases across the United States. To be accepted, a negative antigen COVID-19 test must be taken within six hours of the event start time, and PCR COVID-198 tests must be taken within 72 hours of each day a visitor plans to attend.

The full statement on the PAX West site also notes that attendees will be required to wear approved face coverings during the event. As part of this, cosplayers and other costumed fans will not be allowed to wear cosplay pieces on their head that prevent them from wearing an approved face covering. PAX West will run from August 30 to September 2.

PAX organizer ReedPop faced criticism from fans and pun when it announced that attendees will not be required to be vaccinated back in June. However, this move would appear to assuage some of those concerns. As with almost all in-person events, the expo will have significantly less capacity for attendees than in a pre-pandemic year.

The Ember of the East marks the second of three opportunity missions that Rockstar has announced. It's not clear when the third will be added to the game or if more will be released afterward.

The Card Counter Trailer: Oscar Issac Is Out For Revenge

The first trailer for the upcoming movie The Card Counter has been released. The crime thriller stars Oscar Isaac and it hits theaters on September 10.

Issac plays a former convict turned poker player, who gained an incredible ability to count cards while in jail. The trailer shows that he starts a friendship with a younger player, played by Tye Sheridan (Ready Player One), with whom he shares a mutual enemy in the shape of a mysterious army major played by Willem Defoe (Aquaman). It looks like a tense drama, with a stellar cast that also includes Tiffany Haddish (Girls Trip). Check the trailer out below:

The Card Counter is written and directed by Paul Schrader, whose last movie was the Oscar-nominated First Reformed. As a director, Schrader is known for films such as American Gigolo and Cat People, and he also wrote the screenplays for Martin Scorsese's classics Taxi Driver and Raging Bull. Scorsese is a producer on The Card Counter.

A small patch arrived in Fortnite today, but it brought with it some huge implications. Above The Aftermath at the center of the island now floats two new objects: a unique alien Abductor disc, markedly different than those that debuted earlier this season, as well as a countdown timer. Here's what we know about Fortnite's next event.

Fortnite August 6 Event

Epic is playing coy, at least for now, about the countdown timer shown over the island's center, even as it's also prominently displayed in the player lobby for battle royale mode. We know the timer is set to end on Friday, August 6 at 3 PM PT / 6 PM ET. While it could be anything, there's one leading theory: It points to the often-rumored Ariana Grande concert.

We first heard about the possibility of such an in-game event during the Epic versus Apple court battle. Madden NFL 22 Player Ratings: Here Are The 99 Club Members So Far

As part of EA's week-long Madden NFL 22 player ratings reveal, the publisher is revealing the ratings for the game's top players, and the best of the best get a 99 rating. This puts them in the elusive "99 Club," as it's known, and two members have been announced so far.

Davante Adams, a wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, was the first player to be announced for the 99 Club. EA Sports surprised Adams with the news while he was playing golf, and it was all documented on video. Every member of the 99 Club gets a special "99" necklace and other goodies, as you can see in the video below.

The second member of the 99 Club is Aaron Donald, who, in addition to his 99 OVR rating, boasts a 99 in the Strength category--this makes him the strongest player in the entire game. "He also has the holy grail of RE skills with absurdly high ratings across all line-penetration attributes and top scores in field awareness," EA said in its announcement.

Scandinavian Folk Horror Movie, Lamb, Gets Freaky First Trailer

The first trailer for Lamb has been released. The Scandinavian horror thriller stars Noomi Rapace (Prometheus), and it hits theaters on October 8.

The trailer doesn't give too much away about the plot, but there's no denying it looks extremely creepy. Rapace plays a woman who is running a farm in a remote part of Iceland with her husband. One of their sheep gives birth to a lamb which, the trailer suggests, has some weird human characteristics. The official synopsis states that the couple "face the consequences of defying the will of nature," and it certainly looks like it goes into some extremely dark places. Check it out below:

Lamb also stars Björn Hlynur Haraldsson (The Witcher) and Ingvar Sigurdsson (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald). It's the directorial debut of Valdimar Jóhannsson.

Hot Wheels Unleashed Adds Batmobile, DeLorean, And More Iconic Cars To Its Lineup

If the thought of racing a smaller piece of pop culture history that can be parked in your pocket sounds appealing, then Hot Wheels Unleashed's expanded selection of cinematic rides might appeal to you. In the latest trailer for the game, developer Milestone has revealed the inclusion of iconic vehicles such as The Party Wagon from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Batman's Batmobile, Back to the Future's DeLorean, Knight Rider's K.I.T.T, and Snoopy's Barnstormer.

The idea of more exotic vehicles from Hot Wheels ties into the history of the toy franchise, as the toy line has regularly recreated cars from across film, television, and video games. According to Milestone, cars can be upgraded using the in-game Rarity System, which allows players to collect and dismantle in-game vehicles in order to improve their performance. Some upgrades can only be discovered in unique and secret ways.

If you'd prefer a less fictional car, Hot Wheels Unleashed has a number of other scale-replica vehicles to collect in the game, ranging from classics such as the 1971 El Camino and 1956 Ford Truck to more modern hypercars like the 2020 Koenigsegg Jesko.

Madden 22 Ratings: Top 10 Edge-Rushers Revealed

It's a fun and exciting time for fans of EA's Madden NFL series, as the publisher has teamed up with ESPN to reveal the player ratings for this year's Madden NFL 22. We're getting more ratings each day, and now we've learned which edge-rushers rank the highest for this year's game.

With a 98 OVR rating, Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns is the highest-rated edge-rusher in Madden 22. Rounding out the top five are Khalil Mack (96 OVR), TJ Watt (94 OVR), Chandler Jones (94 OVR), and JJ Watt (94 OVR). Of note here is that the Watt brothers are two major forces on the defensive side of the ball, and the younger one gets the slight edge. What's even more unlikely is that there is another set of brothers in the top 10 here, as Joey Bosa (92 OVR) and Nick Bosa (90 OVR) also rank as some of the highest-rated edge-rushers in Madden NFL 22.

Fortnite Hotfix 17.21 Adds New Plasma Cannon Weapon

Epic has released Fortnite hotfix 17.21 today, and with it comes a brand-new weapon to the game that will give loopers the firepower of a UFO without a pilot's license via the Plasma Cannon. Alongside that marquee addition, something strange is happening in the skies above The Aftermath. Let's dig into Fortnite hotfix 17.21.

Fortnite Plasma Cannon

The Plasma Cannon is a new tech weapon designed by the Imagined Order after weeks of espionage carried out by Slone--and you, if you've been completing her challenges. The IO has taken the alien technology of a UFO's plasma cannon and fit it into a handheld firearm, giving players a powerful new tool in gunfights.

The Plasma Cannon can be found in regular chests as well as IO "henchman" chests and comes equipped with five plasma balls. The energy of the plasma balls will cause "heavy damage" and throws players back. It will even do the same to vehicles, which you may have seen before when piloting a UFO. Additionally, the new gun destroys buildings and other structures "just about instantly," according to Epic.
