Guild Wars 2 Brings Back Fan-Favorite Twisted Marionette Boss Battle, Seven Years Later Posted: 07 Jul 2021 08:57 AM PDT The MMO Guild Wars 2 is bringing back one of the game's earliest and most beloved world bosses who hasn't been seen since 2014. The Twisted Marionette world boss from the game's Living World Season 1 is returning to the game after we last saw them all the way back in 2014. The Twisted Marionette comes back to Guild Wars 2 after a seven-year break as part of the game's July 13 update. This update also adds the Legendary Armory, which is a new place where players can store their Legendary gear. The Twisted Marionette battle won't be exactly as you may remember it from 2014. Developer ArenaNet says it has "some adjustments to bring it up to modern Guild Wars 2 design standards." Additionally, the encounter now rewards players with achievements. Loki Episode 5 Features A Blink And You'll Miss It Throg Cameo Posted: 07 Jul 2021 08:50 AM PDT While the Loki-filled Episode 5 of Loki focused a heck of a lot on the God of Mischief's variants, there was an appearance of Thor in the episode. No, it wasn't Chris Hemsworth wearing the costume, it was a frog. Warning: Some real minor spoilers coming up for Episode 5 of Loki. During the scene where the titular Loki was heading down to a secret bunker with Kid Loki, Old Loki, Boastful Loki, and Alligator Loki, there was a brief moment where we saw Mjolnir buried in the dirt. Right next to that was a creature in a glass jar hopping around trying to get it. However, it's in a glass jar, so there's no escape. That creature is none other than Frog Thor or Throg. Karen Gillan Doesn't Know If There Will Be Another Jumanji Movie Posted: 07 Jul 2021 08:16 AM PDT Sony Pictures successfully revived the Jumanji series for a new audience with Welcome to the Jungle in 2017 followed by The Next Level in 2019. Both were box office juggernauts, but we still haven't heard about another one. Actress Karen Gillan, who starred in the new Jumanji films, told Collider that no one has reached out to her about another entry, at least not yet. "I actually don't know anything about the next one," she said. "Nobody has spoken to me, so I think--I don't know. I assume they'll make one and I don't know how they're gonna tackle that. But I hope they make another one because it's so much fun." Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle made $962 million worldwide in 2017, making it the fifth-biggest film of the year at the global box office, well ahead of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Thor: Ragnarok, and Wonder Woman. The 2019 sequel, The Next Level, made $800 million globally, finishing the year as the 10th highest-grossing movie internationally. Continue Reading at GameSpot |

Having already secured its modest pledge goal of $9,739--Currently over $15,000 at the time of writing--the xScreen is described as an integrated folding screen for the Xbox Series S that can create a laptop-like gaming experience. If you feel like making an early pledge, you'll need to back the project with $195 for the early bird tier, as the xScreen will cost $250 when it hits the market next year. It's not clear what the pledges from this drive will be spent on, although the final total could be used to show retailers just how much interest there is in the community before the product arrives. Madden 22 Face Of The Franchise Mode Gets New Progression System, Player Classes Posted: 07 Jul 2021 06:58 AM PDT If you play Madden each year for the single-player experience, then it sounds like you're in luck for Madden 22. EA is delivering a major overhaul for Face of the Franchise, complete with a few features that sound like they were inspired by a certain baseball series. As explained by senior design director Ryan Santos in the latest All Access Trailer video, this year's mode will begin with a prologue called Road to the Draft, which sees you as a college player who has just competed in the College Football Playoff and is gearing up for a short at the NFL. You'll work out for a team prior to being selected, and choices you make--both on and off the field--can affect where you're selected. There's also a new class progression system available within the game's customization hub. You can give your avatar special abilities to fit your unique playstyle, and there are also archetypes similar to the ones in MLB The Show, which are based on existing players. "The General," for example is based on Tom Brady and gives you tools for running an effective offense and making passes within the pocket. Patrick Mahomes' "The Magician," meanwhile, lets you detect defenses and make effective decisions both in and out of the pocket. Continue Reading at GameSpot |

The FIFA publisher has since confirmed that is not true, and it has no plans for in-game ads on its console games, but PlayerWON is a real product that its creator believes will become very commonplace in the future. Simulmedia's Dave Madden explained and defended PlayerWON in a blog post recently. He said the PlayerWON platform takes the learnings from WildTangent's BrandBoost ad platform that he helped create when he worked there and applies them more deeply for console games. "Now it's time for advertising in video games to take another evolutionary leap forward," he said. Continue Reading at GameSpot |
