Metroid: Samus Returns' Black Friday Price Is as Low as You're Ever Likely to See Posted: 25 Nov 2021 10:47 AM PST Now, this is going to be a very tentative article, because there's a good chance this deal will expire before I even finish this sentence. But, Metroid Samus Returns on the 3DS is available for just $41.25 at Amazon (see here). Yes, I know this is a four-year-old game, but the resell value for Metroid Samus Returns on eBay is currently between $50-60. This is a rare game, and I'm pretty sure copies are no longer in production. If you're a collector, and you want to have this game on your shelf, I'd buy this quick, before the price shoots back up again. Metroid Samus Returns Down to $41.25 for Black FridaySure, the Special Edition of Samus Returns is definitely worth a lot more. But, having the standard edition as a physical copy will also have its merits, especially at this price. If you want to play the game after experiencing Metroid Dread, this is the perfect opportunity. Otherwise, consider this deal an investment into your gaming collection. Honestly, I half-expect to log on tomorrow to see this out of stock, or listed for $60-70, we'll just have to wait and see. Cricket 22 Delayed Because of Sex Scandal Posted: 25 Nov 2021 08:43 AM PST Developer Big Ant has delayed Cricket 22 to swap out one of the game's cover stars, following a sex scandal involving the athlete. As reported by Kotaku, the sports game developer was set to include Australian Cricketer Tim Paine on the cover of this year's cricketing title but has taken the decision to remove his image following the emergence of a sex scandal, after the star was revealed to have sent "lewd messages" and a picture of his genitals to a former female colleague. Big Ant posted a statement to Twitter earlier this week confirming that it was delaying the game from November 25 to December 2. "Unfortunately, factors beyond our control have meant that we need to update the game's cover art, other visuals, and team lists," the studio confirmed on Twitter before confirming the game's new release date.
The incident between Paine and his former female colleague is reported to have taken place back in 2017. Following an investigation in 2018, Paine was cleared of wrongdoing by cricketing authority Cricket Tasmania, which determined that the incident involving the cricketer and his colleague had been "consensual". However, after it emerged that the texts were due to be revealed publicly, Paine stepped down as captain of the Australian men's cricket team last week. Per the BBC, Paine subsequently said, "Although exonerated, I deeply regretted this incident at the time and still do today." Despite Paine no longer captaining the side, he is set to play in the team's upcoming Ashes test series against England in December. Following the announcement of the game's delay, Big Ant has confirmed that fellow Australian Cricket star Pat Cummins will replace Paine on the cover. Cummins will be joined alongside Australian woman's team captain Meg Lanning, who was already set for the cover. For more on Cricket 22, make sure to check out this article detailing the different tournaments coming to the series this time around.

Halo Infinite Multiplayer Will Add More Weapons Over Time Posted: 25 Nov 2021 06:39 AM PST 343 Industries Head of Creative, Joseph Staten has confirmed that Halo Infinite's multiplayer will add more weapons over time. During a recent quick-fire interview with Game Informer, Staten recently spoke about the number of weapons in Halo Infinite's current multiplayer mode, confirming to fans that more weapons will be coming to the game in due course. When asked whether or not Halo fans have seen everything there is to see from Halo Infinite's armory, Staten's response was pretty definitive. "The answer is a resounding 'no you have not'," he confirmed before stating that it was a "pretty safe bet" to assume that more weapons would be coming to the game as time goes on. Unfortunately, due to the rapid-fire nature of the interview, Staten's answers on the topic were brief and gave little other details away. While it may come as little surprise to fans that Infinite's multiplayer will expand upon its selection of weapons moving forward, Staten also hinted that the game may feature a number of secret weapons similar to that of Halo 2's Scarab gun moving forward. "If I told you, they wouldn't be secrets now would they?" said the 343 partner when questioned on the topic. Elsewhere in the interview, Staten said that the team planned to add more content to the game season-by-season, aside from quick fixes. That means the earliest we can expect new weapons to play with in multiplayer to be with Season 2, starting in May 2022. It's not clear what weapons could be added to multiplayer from here on out – although the game is missing some from previous Halo entries. There's also the possibility of seeing weapon variants appear, given that we've already seen them in the Campaign mode. During our hands-on preview, we were able to find rare and unique weapons such as the Backdraft Cindershot - a slight variation on the regular Cindershot launcher - hidden away in secret rooms guarded by the Banished, or held by open world bosses. It would be interesting to see some of those pop up in multiplayer modes too. Elsewhere in the interview, Staten spoke briefly about the unfortunate Brute, Craig, who last year became a meme following his brief and ungainly cameo in a Halo Infinite gameplay trailer. "Craig has gone through what you might call a glow-up," he says. "If you play Infinite, you might realize that Craig has gone in a different career direction." To find out more about Craig's new career path, make sure to check out this article detailing the first Halo Infinite Craig Easter Egg to be found within the game.
