Shohei Ohtani Stars In Switch Showcase For MLB The Show 22

The MLB The Show 22 Tech Test is heading towards its conclusion, with Sony San Diego also keeping busy promoting the baseball sim ahead of its early April release. Its Switch debut is a big deal, of course, though we were left rather disappointed in our hands on of the current test build.

To be fair to the marketing team, it's being honest in its promotion of the Switch-specific version, using genuine footage of the hybrid system's version rather than the spruced up 4K / 60fps performance seen on the more powerful PS5 / Xbox Series X|S. As you can see in the latest trailer above, it's utilising superstar two-way player Shohei Ohtani to promote it, while putting a big emphasis on portable play and having The Show on the go.

Wonder Boy Collection Is Coming To Switch This Year

Update : We now have a story trailer and official confirmation of the game. It has also been confirmed that Strictly Limited Games will offer "awesome exclusive items included in the Collector's Editions of the Wonder Boy Anniversary Collection".

It has also been confirmed that Japanese company Bliss Brain is involved with this project.

Monster Hunter Rise Update To Add Free Armor And Weapons, With Paid 'Voice DLC'

Monster Hunter Rise is still consistently providing regular free updates in the form of quests, various armors and weapons, along with a smaller number of paid DLCs. The latest batch will arrive in version 3.9 this week on 24th February, with the free update designed to help newer players get started.

As you can see in the trailer above it'll include a set of 'Defender' weapons, a 'Black Belt' armor set and the 'Veteran's Talisman', all designed to give you a helping hand early in the game. This official page gives a detailed lowdown.

Feature: "Lemmings Meets Dickens" With A Bit Of Fable - Ex-Lionhead Dev Talks 'Tin Hearts'

"As a studio we care deeply about memorable and meaningful stories".

Tin Hearts first came onto our radar last year when it was unveiled by its publisher Wired Productions in a 'Direct'-style event. The trailer above set the scene nicely for a Victorian-era setting and, seemingly, gameplay reminiscent of Lemmings or even Mario vs. Donkey Kong. We recently had a slightly longer look in a media event, and it certainly strikes us as a game worth following.

In the new footage there was an extended look at how gameplay is shaping up, and we were immediately struck by a 'Pikmin' effect; the toy soldiers are tiny in the larger space of the real world. The video shows some variations in gameplay, too - in some parts the players was a 'spirit' controlling soldiers and items to get them to safety, which is where the Lemmings comparison comes in, but there were also brief snippets of a third-person perspective right behind an individual trooper. Overall, the scale of the toys and the recreation of the large spaces around them looked impressive.

SD Gundam Battle Alliance will encompass 25 different Gundam series, Siliconera has confirmed.

While the full list of included Mobile Suits is yet to be revealed, robots from Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans and Gundam SeeD are confirmed to be included. Also, thanks to the efforts of ryokutya2089, we now have a little more information on the mechanics and narrative of the game.

Review: Kingdom Hearts III + Re:Mind - Cloud Version - Shot Through The Heart

And so we come to the end – for now – of Tetsuya Nomura's iconic and in-no-way-confusing Kingdom Hearts series. Additionally, then, this is the end of our excursion into the nebulous Cloud; pun extremely intended. Yet, of course, for all the shade we throw at the concept of Cloud Versions and the myriad flaws they bring to the table, Kingdom Hearts 3 feels like the only game of the three that actually necessitated a Cloud Version to run on Switch. Of course, "necessitated" isn't really the case; it could have been cut down/compromised to work, but if 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix doesn't get a port, then there's no way Kingdom Hearts 3 was going to.

This game was a long time coming, but we'd say that with the Re:Mind DLC (included here), it's a very worthy sequel to the extremely large and feature-packed Kingdom Hearts 2, building on the series by adding features from previous games while remaining faithful to the feel and delivering a relatively satisfying conclusion to what is apparently the first major arc in the Kingdom Hearts series. Only took them 17 years.

Nintendo Continues Expansion In Southeast Asia With Official Websites For Malaysia And The Philippines

Company "pleased" to bring information to its fans in the region.

Nintendo has expanded its operations in Southeast Asia with the launch of two new regional websites.

Malaysia and the Philippines now have their own official Nintendo sites, which join the Thai-language Nintendo website and official online store that launched late last year. Nintendo also launched a Singaporean website last year, which shows how serious the company is about servicing the needs of its Southeast Asian customers.

Ninja Issen, A 'Hyper Ninja Action Experience', Flips Onto Switch This Summer

Ninja Issen is a game that first popped onto our radar in Summer 2021, as it was confirmed for Switch as part of Indie Live Expo. Originally planned for a 2021 release, it's now been shifted to a target of Summer 2022 and could be a bit of a sneaky hit to watch.

As you can see in the trailer it's heavily stylised and is aiming to deliver a 'hyper ninja action experience', which seems like an accurate description. It combines this with a cyberpunk aesthetic and seemingly a soundtrack that'll keep you awake to the action.

Microsoft 'Close' To Sacking Senior Dev Who Assaulted 7-Year-Old Son For Refusing To Stop Playing His Switch

A senior developer at Microsoft has been sentenced to a one-year community corrections order with a requirement that he perform 100 hours of unpaid work after he was found guilty of unlawfully assaulting his son after the 7-year-old refused to stop playing on his Nintendo Switch.

41-year-old Nicholas Lester, the court heard, throttled his son after losing his temper, and was heard to scream "I will stop him breathing". The attack took place at his West Melbourne home on February 6th last year. The Herald Sun reported the boy's face went red as he yelled for his mother, who ran to the bedroom upon hearing the commotion.

Omen Of Sorrow Is Like 'Castlevania' Meets 'Street Fighter', And It's Coming To Switch

Publisher Eastasiasoft has announced that it is bringing AOne Games' gory, horror-style one-on-one fighter Omen Of Sorrow to Switch and PS5 in physical form.

This edition will boast 'expanded' content when compared to the previously confirmed Steam version. That means revised story content and new endings for the game's arcade mode. The game hit Xbox One in September of last year, and that edition will also receive this content via a free update.

Bandai's Worldwide 'Digimon Con' Begins February 26th, Kicks Off With A Video Game Segment

SNK "Looking Into" Official English Release Of Card Fighters 2

The Neo Geo Pocket Color game SNK VS. Capcom: Card Fighters' Clash got a surprise release on the Switch eShop at the start of this year, and as much as we loved it, one other game we would also like to see return is the Japan-only sequel.

You may know that Detective Pikachu was a surprisingly high-budget movie with Ryan Reynolds, a lot of CGI, and that uncomfortable scene with a Mr Mime, but you may not have known that it was a spin-off of a 3DS game, because it didn't sell massively well — at least, not in comparison to its bigger older sibling, the Pokémon series.

But there's a sequel in production, aiming for a Nintendo Switch release, that's been going since at least 2019. You might be wondering what happened to it — did it get shuffled quietly off into the shadows after the movie came out? — but it turns out that the game is still in development, it's just been quiet.

The impact and standard of Indie games continues to grow, and an anniversary today highlights another title that helped to elevate the medium in recent times. Night in the Woods, developed by Infinite Fall and published by Finji, has turned five years old today - it arrived on Switch a little later on 1st February 2018.

After a successful Kickstarter campaign and being picked up for publishing the game made its mark on PC, Mac and PS4 on 21st February 2017, and in the following year earned plenty of critical acclaim, sales success and a range of award wins and nominations.

Take A Look Inside The Tiny Apartment Of The Man Who Owes Nintendo $14 Million

Last week, former Team Xecutor member Gary Bowser was sentenced to more than three years in prison in addition to paying Nintendo a combined total of $14,500,000 for damages related to piracy.

Hamster Playground Will Spin Its Wheel A Little Longer, Now Due Q3

Last year we told you about Hamster Maze, a game aiming to give a video game representation of the hobby that can generate millions of views on YouTube. Training our cute little friends to do obstacle courses and mazes is internet gold, apparently, but the game has now had a change in name and a delay, albeit with the positive that it'll now have more content.

It's now called Hamster Playground, and beyond the core 'house', training and maze running it will now aim to have 5 modes in total. It's due in Q3 now, still listed for Switch, and some of the official blurb is below.

Mario Kart Convinced Nintendo's President To Join The Company In The '90s

Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa has revealed that Super Mario Kart played a huge role in getting him to join the company earlier in his life.

Speaking to Nikkei, Furukawa spoke about his history with Nintendo and how he came to work for the Kyoto firm. He admits that, although he had a Super Famicom in the early '90s, he was more attracted to third-party titles rather than Nintendo's own – until a friend recommended a certain Mode 7 racing game:
