Paramount Pictures and Sega have just teased a new trailer for the upcoming movie Sonic the Hedgehog 2, due out in cinemas late March/early April, depending on your location. If you slow the trailer down on YouTube, you'll be able to see a series of new never-before-seen footage of the anticipated sequel. Accessibility in games is an important topic that has been receiving a lot more well-deserved attention over the past few years, in large part thanks to accessibility advocates and large companies taking up the mantle. But we still have a long way to go — as recent discussions over the difficulty and accessibility of games like Elden Ring have highlighted — and part of that is understanding that so many parts of the video game media cycle are inaccessible to huge swathes of the population. There are many things that a lot of us, who have never had to deal with disabilities or difficulties, take for granted, like being able to distinguish between colours in a game, being able to see other people's screenshots on social media, and being able to play games without subtitles (or minuscule, unreadable subtitles, which is just as bad). Well, now you can live the kaiju-fighting punch-a-thon of your dreams in Dawn of the Monsters, the latest game from Runbow developers 13AM and publisher WayForward, who themselves made Contra 4 and River City Girls. Dawn of the Monsters is a couch co-op kaiju beat-'em-up in which you play as a kaiju in order to fight other big monsters, and in which you destroy a bunch of cities along the way because that's what kaiju do, baby. Pokémon Is Airing A One-Hour Anime Special For The 25th Anniversary Posted: 12 Mar 2022 09:30 PM PST Two new episodes arrive on April 1st. It seems Pokémon's 25th anniversary celebrations haven't ended just yet - with the animated series Pokémon Journeys announcing it will be airing a one-hour special in Japan on April 1st. This will line up with 25 years of the anime series, which originally debuted on the same date in 1997. This special will be comprised of two brand new episodes. The first one titled "Ash & Clemont! Special Friendship Training" sees Ash travel to Lumiose City to battle in the World Coronation Series. Here's A First Look At The House Of The Dead: Remake Physical Switch Release Posted: 12 Mar 2022 05:45 PM PST Welcome back. Last week, it was confirmed The House of the Dead: Remake would be launching on Nintendo Switch via the eShop this April, with pre-orders opening on 31st March. If you would prefer a hard copy of the game, you'll be able to pick up Microids' previously revealed physical release. We've now got our first look at this version of the game. According to various retailers, the limited edition will include an exclusive box, two character stands, stickers and a copy of the game. Pre-orders appear to also be open on select websites. Random: Console Modder Makes "Fake Portable GameCube" Mock-Up A Reality Posted: 12 Mar 2022 08:05 AM PST "It's real now". Reflect on previous Nintendo generations, and you might remember mock-ups of portable GameCube handhelds inspired by the Game Boy Advance SP. If you've ever wanted a real version of something like this, well...that's exactly what console modder and YouTuber 'GingerOfOz' has created. The modder has been able to shrink this mock-up down to a Game Boy Advance SP-style handheld unit. Sakurai Wins 'Most Valuable Creator' At Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2021 Posted: 12 Mar 2022 05:30 AM PST Monster Hunter Rise takes out GOTY. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai has been recognised by the Dengeki Game Awards as Japan's most valuable video game creator in 2021. This award was decided based on user voting within Japan. Sakurai shared the news with his followers over on Twitter, while also thanking everyone who supported him and his team. Sakurai was able to place ahead of the Resident Evil Village development team, Um Musume: Pretty Derby's development team, Sega's Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and Naoki Yoshida (FFXIV's producer).
